M·A·C Guest Post: Bronzing Basics

Senior M·A·C Cosmetics Artist Fatima Thomas has all the details on achieving a sun-kissed glow.

Want a natural, sun-kissed look without the skin damage that comes with sunbathing? Want it year-round? Who doesn’t! Allow me to introduce you to your new best friend: M·A·C Bronzing Powder.

Read on for my tips on selecting the bronzer for your skin tone and how to achieve a perfect application.

Everyone tans differently, so it’s important to choose a bronzing powder that will reflect and enhance your skin’s natural undertones. Those with deep brown skin tones can add sunny warmth with M·A·C Alluring Aquatic Bronzer in ‘Delphic,’ a brick-toned tan. Deeper, ebony skin tones look fantastic in Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in ‘Gold Deposit.’ Fair skin looks most natural in light golden powders like Bronzing Powder in ‘Refined Golden’ or Alluring Aquatic Bronzer in ‘Aphrodite’s Shell.’

My tried-and-true application involves taking a M·A·C 129 Powder/Blush Brush, lightly loaded with bronzing powder, and gently sweeping across the hairline, forehead, nose bridge, cheeks and chin. And always remember to sweep a bit on the neck and under the chin for a believably natural look.
