Debra’s Signature Fragrances & Our Spring Scent Event

I don’t think anything sets the mood more for being flirty, sexy, fun, fresh or sophisticated like a captivating aroma. The right fragrance can leave such an indelible mark on our lives, which is why most of us are selective when choosing a scent for a meaningful moment: a first date, a prom, a wedding, a date, an anniversary. We know from that event forward, each time we encounter that scent again, it will take us back to that very memory in our life.

It’s for all these reasons and more that I am excited about our upcoming Spring Scent Event—the perfect time to discover a new fragrance to help celebrate those memories yet to be made.

Now through May 1, our stores will be offering an exclusive floral glass tray (pictured above) with any $125 women’s fragrance or home fragrance purchase.

Selected stores will also be offering bottle engraving to personalize your fragrance purchases, while others will offer a floral bouquet as an additional gift with your fragrance purchase. All stores will have something going on, so be sure to call and/or visit your favorite Nordstrom store to find out about all of their special offerings.

Take a Walk in the Park with Bond No. 9

Some of the best bonding moments with friends and family take place at parks—especially during the spring and summer months, when you can enjoy a picnic or a little sunbathing. Honing in on this idea of parks and pleasure, Bond No. 9 has bottled up the beauty of New York City’s most famed green spaces.

Today, it’s back in hip-and-cool revival mode, so now’s the time for a neighborhood eau de parfum—with notes of grape hyacinth, huckleberry, prairie dropseed grass, red leaf rose, red hunter tulips and teakwood.

Nordstrom Presents… Jimmy Choo FLASH

Confident and camera-ready, FLASH, the second fragrance from Jimmy Choo, captures the glamour of dressing up. This Nordstrom-exclusive fragrance comes just in time for spring, so if you’re in need a of new ultra-modern scent, then look no further!

Russian model Natasha Poly is the center of attention in the FLASH campaign, shot by famed photographer Steven Meisel, who was tasked with bringing out Poly’s “cool yet slow-burning sexiness.”

Inspired by a 1970s modernist chandelier, the bottle was designed to play with light and references a palette of crystal, Lucite and metal.

When creating FLASH, perfumer Christine Nagel (pictured, above left) said she imagined a self-confident woman and the sound of her high heels clicking around the streets of metropolitan cities such as New York, London and Paris. “As a brand, Jimmy Choo is so resolutely feminine that the perfume had to have a sensual background. I used white woods, a contemporary note that gives a feminine, sophisticated touch but maintains luminosity,” says Nagel, who is known as a modern artist in fragrance.

“We see fragrance as another accessory,” says Sandra Choi (pictured, above right), Jimmy Choo’s creative director. “We want women to feel as excited as they do when they buy a pair of shoes or a handbag.”

From sultry lipsticks to alluring fragrances, each month we’ll be bringing you the best of what’s new in beauty. Beauty Stylist Allyson White, from our Walnut Creek store #421, gives us the inside scoop on her five most-wanted items.

• See by Chloé: “Meet my new favorite fragrance of the season! It’s fresh with notes of apple, yet subtly sexy with a hint of vanilla and musk. It’s the perfect everyday fragrance. This scent comes in a body lotion as well as a perfume spray. I like to layer the two for all-day lasting power.”

• Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm: “Who doesn’t love a multitasking product? Anything to save me a little time in the morning! This all-in-one skin-perfecter does the task of five products in one. It brightens, hydrates, primes, evens and controls oil with a sheer coverage. It can be worn alone or under foundation. Try using the Trish deluxe blending brush when applying to get a flawless airbrushed look.”

• Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Lip Color: “I love this new product! It’s a beautiful, smooth, sheer wash of color with 8 hours of hydration. It’s the perfect way to introduce spring’s pop of color into your makeup wardrobe. Apply alone for a sheer look or use a YSL lip liner in a coordinating color to achieve a more defined lip.”

• Perricone MD Blue Plasma: “This multitasking nonacidic daily peel is gentle enough for the most sensitive of skins. It has blue copper to soothe and repair while also reducing the look of large pores, lines and wrinkles. Antioxidants brighten the skin and give you that youthful glow.
