Winter is around the corner and you know what that means: Jack Frost will be nipping at your…toes? Yes, toes!
To prevent the chill, throw on the season’s hottest new item: socks! Okay, so these aren’t a new item, but they have recently been taking a bigger role in fashion. Whether tucked into heels or worn with Mary Janes, socks can bring that vintage touch to any outfit.
Socks were even seen at New York Fashion Week.
Socks come in so many patterns and fabrics, like floral, polka dots, prints, and even lace. My favorite socks are the Free People knee-highs – I wear them with my Sperries for a prep look I totally love!
As October comes to an end and the cold weather moves in, it is often easy to get stuck in a gloomy mood. It’s been so hard to get out of my warm, comfy bed every morning to face the freezing outdoors. We still have much more to enjoy in fall, though! November brings more leaves changing colors, chunkier sweaters, hot chocolate and delicious Thanksgiving meals.
The trends of the season will have you excited to get out of bed (well, no guarantees) and ready to brace yourself against the cold! I am currently obsessed with chunky, oversized sweaters, definitely a staple for fall. They’re just the right piece to throw on in the morning before going to class or on a Sunday coffee run.
I love wearing a topknot hairdo and a big sweater. This look is comfortable, doesn’t take a lot of effort yet still looks great!
Layering is another favorite of mine–and a must in order to keep warm. Try a vest in leather or denim this year (both new arrivals in BP).
And, while leggings and jeans are great, it’s nice to mix it up once in a while. Try pairing your huge sweater with a skirt or shorts. Throw on some tights or leggings underneath and boots for the complete look.
Now, don’t forget about your head! I am loving knit berets and headbands.
To sum up this post and the others dealing with fall trends, here are your must-haves to survive the rest of the season:
– Sweaters, sweaters and more sweaters!
– Boots (UGG, Hunter, combat or tall patent leather)
– Leather jacket and/or vest
– Faux fur
–Knit beret and/or headband

Stay warm and safe!
Although it’s been unusually warm the past few days on the East Coast, I know that the cold weather is going to be making its arrival any day now. I’m not the biggest fan of cold weather, but I am looking forward to adding even more layers to my looks!
Outerwear is a cold-weather must. Here are a few of my favorite outerwear pieces from BP!
Gloves, hats and scarves are just as much of an accessory as earrings, necklaces and bracelets, so I’m starting to shop for all of these winter accessories now!
Boots are another fall and winter—maybe even yearlong—necessity. I have been expanding my horizons this fall and trying some new styles, like studded combat boots! Riding boots are my favorites!
Here are a few cozy, cold-weather outfits that I’m loving!
How do you plan on keeping warm and stylish this winter?
