Recently, the funky fun jewelry brand, BaubleBar, was introduced to Nordstrom. BaubleBar was founded by two besties that wanted super trendy jewelry at guilt-free price points. Since then, the brand has become known for its “more is more” attitude. I’m personally a huge fan of bright statement jewelry, so I’m really excited to start shopping this brand.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the collection:

Floral printed shorts seem to be a huge trend for spring and summer. I’ve noticed many different styles popping up in stores: structured floral shorts, silky shorts, and even washed-out floral denim shorts. I have a laidback pair of lace-trimmed black floral shorts and my best friend Bella has a pair of more structured tweed floral shorts. We both styled them in completely different ways!

Pairing my breezy shorts with a cutout shoulder tee, I took a more sporty approach. I let the girliness of the shorts stand out by keeping the rest of my outfit neutral. These chunky sandals are my new go-to shoe if I ever want my legs to look miles long. Although breaking them in was a bit painful, they are the comfiest pair of sporty sandals that I’ve ever worn because of the platform.

Bella, on the other hand, took a more girly and boho approach to contrast the leather detail on her shorts. This warrior rocked some fierce strappy stilettos as well as a crop tankmirrored sunnies, and long boho cardigan.

How will you wear floral shorts this spring and summer? Post a photo on Instagram with #NordstromBP and you might find yourself on the in-store video wall, in our feed or elsewhere in the BP. universe!

This spring, I’m lusting after caged sandals. I especially love them in a cognac or caramel tone. They’re the perfect mixture of boho, edgy and chic. They pair perfectly with tribal harem pants, a floral midi skirt or even a fabulously daring jumpsuit. I confess that I already bought the Dolce Vita ‘Shandy’ Sandals (#2 in the photo layout above), and I’m absolutely obsessed– I plan to wear them everyday that it isn’t pouring down rain.

On my recent trip to Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to spend the day with Mimi Chica. I’ve always been curious about what it’s ACTUALLY like to work in the fashion industry. Thanks to Mimi Chica, I got to meet so many cool people and hear their stories about how they started working in fashion, not to mention spend my day surrounded by beautiful clothes.

I took my photographer friend Bella along for the fun. Also pictured: my lovely “tour guides” Julie and Tara. Both of them are Mimi Chica experts and taught me everything I needed to know about the company.

This is one of the many clothing racks that filled the Mimi Chica showroom space. I think I was in heaven being surrounded by all these beautiful clothes! Julie explained to me that there were so many racks because she had just returned from New York market, which means that tons of clothing brands from all over the country come to New York so that buyers from different companies such as Nordstrom can look at everyone’s clothes and order what they want for their store.

Mimi Chica is known for having eclectic and quirky prints. I had the privilege of meeting the printmakers themselves! When I asked them “Is that all you do, just make cool prints all day?” they looked at each other, laughed, and responded, “Yes!”

Lucky for me, the co-owner of Mimi Chica was in his office when I visited. It was so interesting to hear his story of how he broke into the fashion industry and started Mimi Chica with his wife, Michelle.

After a delicious lunch at the Ace Hotel in LA (and after snapping this quick shot of Bella at the rooftop lounge), we headed toward the production offices for the brand.

The group watched the end of a fitting (when clothes are tried on by a fit model and adjustments are made so that the garment can be as comfortable and easy to wear as it can be), and I wandered around the space taking photos. I noticed some tie-dye fabric hanging by a window (along with some adorable potted cacti, I might add) and decided to take a picture of it because of how the vibrant colors cheered up the office.

I had such an incredible day with Mimi Chica to say the least. Huge, huge, HUGE thank you to Tara and Julie for having Bella and I, and for showing us the basics of the brand. And another huge thank you to everyone that I met at the offices, you all are wonderful and have the best jobs ever.

P.S. Check out the latest from Mimi Chica’s spring line!

OOTD: Global Neutrals

GET THE LOOK: Crochet Lace Top | Bandeau | Printed Shorts | Gladiators | Turquoise Necklace

This outfit is perfect for browsing thrift shops with your bestie or hanging out downtown with the beau. The mix of textures gives off a cool vibe without seeming like you’re trying too hard. A turquoise necklace adds a needed pop of color to this otherwise neutral ensemble. Of course, I can’t forget to mention that I’m in love with these gladiators—so far, they’re my favorite sandals of the season!

Post a picture of one of your fabulous spring break OOTDs on Instagram, and don’t forget to include #NordstromBP. Your picture could end up on one of our in-store video walls or somewhere else in the BP. Universe. ;)

L.A. Street Style

The moment has come. After months of trying, I finally captured the perfect street-style shots. Although they’re not New York Fashion Week caliber, the street style in Los Angeles was more fabulous than I had anticipated. While vacationing in beautiful SoCal, I attended a fashion show featuring up-and-coming and student designers. Prior to and directly following the show, I sought out these wonderfully dressed divas and snapped some shots of their perfect outfits!

Metallic gold kimono? Check. Fabulous burgundy floppy hat? Check. Friendly personality and dazzling smile? Check and check.

I was so drawn to this girl’s over-the-top fur coat. She totally looks like M.I.A.—anyone else see it?

This dynamic duo was totally killin’ it post-fashion show.

Clad in mostly black, this pair added jolts of color with rich jewel tones like emerald and plum.

I fell in love with her simple outfit, but what really drew me in was her dainty body chain and necklace layering.

She totally captures the laid-back ’90s vibe. Never before have I seen anyone rock mom jeans as confidently as she did!

Last but certainly not least, these adorable co-workers from Kate Spade on Saturday. Both are rocking the colored denim trend and were the friendliest faces in West Hollywood, I’m pretty sure. ;)

Can we have a round of applause for completing my first successful street-style post? :)

Featuring: TOMS ‘Classic-Jonathan Adler’ Slip-On | Levi’s ’501′ High Waist Denim Cutoff Shorts

To usher in the new season, Jonathan Adler and TOMS teamed up to create a lovely collection of springy footwear. Jonathan Adler is first and foremost a potter, and his shoes’ patterns reflect this simple, geometric aesthetic that was first born on the wheel. Each pair of slip-ons has its own playful personality, but they’re all equally versatile—every pair can easily transition from boho to preppy (which is definitely not an easy task). Since I’ve been into the effortless vibe lately, I styled mine in a more relaxed manner with cutoffs and crochet, but I could also imagine them being worn with a silky blouse and a pair of white linen shorts. I personally can’t wait to wear these adorable slip-ons this spring break whether I’m going out to lunch or walking along the waterfront!

Fur. Prints. Impact. Beyond these three words, Givenchy’s ready-to-wear show leaves me speechless. Take a look:

P.S. Did you catch our girl Kendall Jenner walking? She looks gorgeous, as always!

Models and fashion gurus have boarded their planes and there is significantly less foot traffic along the Champs-Elysées: Fall fashion week has wrapped up in Paris! Here are a few of my favorite looks from the Parisian runways:

1. Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent is one of my favorite houses, always, and I am fully obsessed with their fall line. The ’60s British schoolgirl look fascinates me, and I love how Saint Laurent approached it with a glam twist.

2. Chloé

Chloé took a softer approach to fall with cream-colored jackets and oversized wool turtlenecks. The most intriguing pieces from the show were the textured, pastel pumps, fit for a lazy Queen.

3. Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen brought the shiniest, most glam accessories to Paris. The gem-covered combat boots and star cuff felt like they were designed for the ’90s counterculture girl, but I could see them becoming a staple of the high-end gala this fall.

4. Stella McCartney

I had so much fun watching the Stella McCartney show! I mean, watching Cara and Joan Smalls dancing down the runway in their oversized, cozy sweaters basically made my life.

Stay golden,

For some of you lovely gals, prom may be just around the corner! My prom isn’t for a few more months, but I’ve already started gathering inspiration for my dress, hair, shoes and nails. Normally I cut images out of magazines and glue them on a huge sheet of paper so I can see all my potential prom looks at once. Today I thought I’d share a few nail designs I’ve been loving from Fashion Week. You can try them yourself or take the photos into your nail salon for the professionals to tackle. :)

Whether you’re going for a boho look or an edgy look, there are nail designs out there for everyone!
