Finally, some time for retail therapy, one of my favorite things to do in Paris! First stop: Comme des Garçons. What do you think? Pretty flattering, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve been really looking forward to catching up with Brian Phillips of Black Frame, the PR agency who handles the Pop-In @Nordstrom press. We found this super-yummy Spanish place in the 2nd called Da Rosa. So excited to have a salad after all the pastries, breads, and croissants I’ve been eating.

And then off to Prada, where I fell in love with this necklace of gorgeous green feathers. Then I had a genius idea! If I can make it a headband, it’s a 2-in-1! Reminded me of one of the first shoots that Corinne Day did with Kate Moss. You know the one?

And a last-night pizza party with the boys—Joey & James, Ben and our fave: Zac of VFILES, who partnered with us for the Heartbreakers Club! Strath was there too, but he’s hiding behind the pizza box. (JK, he’s taking the pic!)

And I’m off. My room’s a mess. I have 20 minutes to pack. And it’s not all going to fit! C’est la vie! See ya back in Seattle!

Breakfast of fashion champions was caramel popcorn at the KENZO show this morning, a collaboration with David Lynch. There was certainly a Twin Peaks, I’m-channeling-Laura-Palmer aura in the air, and seeing my old friends Carol and Humberto stage another high-graphic, high-energy show is the best! (Read The Thread’s Runway Rundown on the KENZO show.)

Gotta wear comfy shoes for all the walking, talking, moving and shaking. I’m not a wimp when it comes to pain, but my little feetsies are, so I gave them a break today and wore my favorite sneakers. Marciano, the driver, wore his, too.

Nicholas Kirkwood presented his new collection this morning.

Sometimes, you just gotta get down and dirty. Found some really cute things here. Coming to a store near you real soon!

A Century of Fashion at Condé Nast was an awesome, compact exhibit at the Palais Galliera Musée de la Mode. My favorite was Guy Bourdin’s first photo for Vogue, February 1955—and, of course, all the other fashion photog masters, including Albert Watson, Horst P. Horst, William Klein amd more current photographers like Inez and Vinoodh and Terry Richardson.

Then a quick coffee and amazing people-watching with Justinian and Camilla at L’Avenue in the 8th arrondissement.

And the night ends with me, Joey and James at our favorite bar, Carr’s, which is just a divey hole in the wall really. And that leads to airplanes on the bed…

…and the best discovery super late at night: hotel potato chips!! Woo hoo!

Rise and shine! I knew the day was going to be a great one after I saw the Junya Watanabe show this morning. One of my favorite shows all season! Everything from the clothing to the hair to the the piano music that went forward and backward in all sorts of tempos! This is why j’adore la mode!

Immediately after was the Haider Ackermann show—gorgeous and simple, clean and austere. (Kind of sounds like I’m describing a chardonnay, right? LOL.) True vision and talent. Woo-hoo to Haider.

I’m always on the hunt for new collections for the Pop-In Shops. These would be perfect for our upcoming surf-inspired shop in mid-April! Stay tuned!

Oooh la la! Bonjour, la Tour Eiffel! My, how big you are. During Fashion Week, I like to find non-fashion things to do as well. And what could better fit that bill than the Salon International de l’Agriculture? It was an entire expo center on the outskirts of Paris dedicated to education about farm animals, new farming methods and techniques, and tons of foods and wines…

…and cheeses…

After all that running around, I stopped at a great Korean restaurant called JanTchi, in the 2nd arrondissement. A quick veggie bibimbap for me and a long laugh with my friend Joey temporarily refueled me to keep it moving.

My dear friend Olympia Le-Tan presented an adorable collection entitled “I Put a Spell on You.” And she is truly magical.

And for dinner after my dinner: a jar of cornichons with my good friend Tomoko from Barneys. We caught up at Cinq-Mars and I couldn’t stop thinking/talking about the Dries show.

The enormous Damien Hirst butterfly piece that was paired with the Schiaparelli butterfly dress had to be rolled into the museum. (In my head, it looks like these French people rolling in a giant wheel of cheese. I’m quietly chuckling to myself.) And i just loved his reference to all these famous Hollywood kisses. Très romantique! Bisous!

“Hi, Paris! I’m here.”

After stopping in NYC to drop off Alex and Spy (pictured above, watching movies and napping on the plane) I landed at CDG and hit the ground running.

Stop numéro un had to be the amazing Dries Van Noten* exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. It’s all about the inspirations that go into his work and it’s an AMAZING show.

And he gave us a personal tour! That’s me with Dries and Jennifer Wheeler of Nordstrom. If you can’t see the show yourself, I recommend looking for the book–it’s also beautiful.

After that I stopped by Le Bon Marché to see the Proenza Schouler exhibition–so psychedelic and cool!

I finished the first day with dinner at Nanashi, one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Paris, but of course I was too tired and hungry and busy eating to even take a picture :/ Oh well. More shenanigans tomorrow!

HERO

You might not realize it, but even supermodels have a tough time finding clothing that fits. Take Karlie Kloss. At just over six feet tall, the long-limbed former ballerina often encountered denim hemlines that came up short—literally. So when she got the opportunity to collaborate with Frame Denim on a capsule collection, she decided to create styles perfect for all the tall gals out there.

We grabbed a few minutes with Karlie to talk about her current collection, available for a limited time in our latest Pop-In Shop: New Beginnings.

We’re almost a full month into 2014. How are you doing with those New Year’s resolutions? Going strong? (Nicely done!) Falling off the bandwagon? No worries—our New Beginnings Pop-In Shop is dedicated to keeping you on track. Here are 18 inspirational Editor’s Picks for your new-year new you.

Stay Healthy

Presenting three options that don’t require a gym membership, which you may never (want to) use:

This Dahon Folding Bike stores away compactly—perfect for urban spaces and places. Getting in some time on the yoga mat isn’t so daunting when you see that even a cat can do a little upward-facing dog. The Ninja Blender can help keep you fit with a karate chop to both healthy foods and extra pounds: Like a sword-wielding culinary sensei, it slices, it dices, it juices—and it’s also a master margarita and ice cream maker (think cheat days).
