Editor’s Picks: Printed Pants & Styling Tips

Prints are sizzling hot in the fashion world right now. Of all the creative ways to wear them, we can’t get enough of what they’re doing for pants and denim. Check out our editor’s favorite prints for your lower half and how to wear them allfrom polka dots and flirty flowers to artistic blurs and animal spots.

Rocking the printed pants trend is far simpler than it looks. Consider these tips when planning your look, and get ready to turn some heads.

Your first pair. Go for slim-fit and cropped—the easiest and most modern style. Consider picking up a pair of floral-print skinny jeans—a must-have for spring and a great introduction to printed pants.

Height is key. Pair printed bottoms with heels or wedges. Choose flats with caution to avoid the risk of looking like you’re wearing pajamas.

Manage your proportions. Wear looser-fitting tops over printed bottoms—when combined with a cropped hem, this balances the amount of print in proportion to the rest of your outfit.

Day to night. For work, slip on a crochet top or tuck in a silky blouse—a sharp blazer is a great finishing touch. After hours, throw on a slouchy t-shirt and leather jacket for a rocker vibe.

Dare to pair. Don’t be afraid to mix printed bottoms with printed tops and accessories. Just keep them in a similar color palette, and you’re good to go.

It is breathtaking, how bad those look. Is this like an Onion version of Nordstrom’s site?

The Paige denim and Thakoon tie dyed are my favorites. :) Rock on Nordstrom!
