Bright Future at Prabal Gurung

While so many brands seem to be heading in the direction of simplicity and minimalism, it’s refreshing to see a collection that practically explodes with intricacy and ingenuity. Prabal Gurung, who launched his namesake line in 2009, provided a sartorial feast for the eyes today in a grand performance at Skylight at Moynihan Station. Models took turns navigating and posing inside a clear PVC room like collectibles in a life-size display case. With every turn, they revealed cutting-edge, futuristic details, from plastic harnesses and unexpected cutouts to floating collars and off-the-shoulder caplets—features made all the more exciting in a bright palette of primary hues.

Prabal Gurung is one of the latest additions to our designer roster—you’ll find his designs in stores and online this November.

I think Prabal Gurung’s runway is one of the most creative so far and your photos capture many of the details that make it so interesting. Well done Nordstrom team!
