Runway Rundown: Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014

For fall 2014, Tadashi Shoji found himself enchanted by the rich influence of Arabic culture in southern Spain. The Japanese-born designer takes us on a journey to Alhambra, where the gorgeous Moorish gardens and halls come to life in the form of exquisite textures: laser-cut micro suede, velvet-cut paillettes, and shimmering diamantés.

This collection is “an elegant balance between antiquity and modernity, and designed for our au courant woman,” according to Tadashi.

Motifs found in Moorish architecture were used to illuminate the backdrop of the catwalk, playing off the collection’s ornate detailing.

Check out the movement and elegance of the 23 looks of the collection.

I am never disappointed by Mr. Shoji’s runway. My favorite cocktail dress of all time is a Tadashi Shoji. He makes beautiful clothes.
