British Fashion Awards

Peter Pilotto is actually Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos; together the duo makes up one of the most iconic modern British brands. Among the first designers to really blow out digital prints, the pair’s East London-born collections continue to explore the edges of color, clash, texture, textile and figuring-hugging fit. We talked to them about structure and saturated color, and harmony in fashion and design.



British Fashion Awards 2013

The UK’s leading fashion figures assembled last night at the London Coliseum for the 2013 British Fashion Awards. The UK’s fashion elite took over Londontown last night for the British Fashion Awards, held at the Savoy Hotel and Theatre. Stella McCartney won the esteemed Designer of the Year award while also snagging the Designer Brand award, recognizing a momentous year for her eponymous label.

Notable mentions:
The spotlight was also on Manolo Blahnik, who was honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion award. When it comes to high-end footwear, Blahnik has raised the bar, and this award celebrates his contributions to fashion. Nicholas Kirkwood walked away with the Accessories award, the most prestigious accolade a British shoe, jewelry, millinery or accessories designer can receive. Erdem Moralioğlu’s namesake label won the New Establishment award—well deserved, as his unique prints have taken the industry by storm.
