The world’s oldest, most prestigious tennis tournament, The Wimbledon Championships, is underway. This year’s courts are keeping the strawberries-and-cream-eating spectators on the edge of their seats (seven-time champion Roger Federer just went out, and it’s only day 3!). We’re eager to see if Serena Williams makes it to the finals in one of the most surprise-filled tournaments in memory.
Less exhilarating to watch—the strictly enforced all-white dress code for players when sporty chic is such a winner this summer. The trend may be off-limits to players, but you can get in the game by mixing high-energy hues, tech fabrics and pieces from your gym bag in with the essentials you already wear. You won’t be able to compete on the courts at Wimbledon looking so fresh and fab, but your wardrobe will definitely reign victorious.

Timeless black and white is looking anything but bland right now. Brazen prints are making all those bright colors we’ve seen for so many seasons look demure. Wear a graphic black-and-white print all on its own, or layer on a pop of color for a statement-making optical punch. Ready to get bold and beautiful? Here are a few Editor’s Picks to get you on your way.

If you’re anything like us, your New Year’s Eve plans consist of possibly a party, maybe a bar or potentially a night in with friends. In other words, it’s still up in the air, but that doesn’t mean the quest for the perfect, ready-for-anything outfit hasn’t begun.
Check out more of these looks with our sparkly guide to dressing up on the last night of the year, whether you’re hitting the club, going to a show or canoodling with your sweetheart.
And now for round 2 of “Please buy me this” from our intrepid blog team! The first group’s wish list ranged from a pair of manly boots to a mushroom-growing kit (yes, Nordstrom truly does sell it all). Today we’re steering toward the classics, like a chic red dress and a French cookbook, with a few curve balls along the way.
It’s impossible to work for a major fashion retailer and not fall in love with a few things (okay, like a million things). Luckily, this is the perfect time of year to announce your ultimate wish list to the world. So in the spirit of giving and receiving (fingers tightly crossed on receiving), we asked each of our blog writers and team contributors to name the top four items they hope to find under the tree.
The invitations are coming in—and you need to figure out what to wear. Alyson Hannigan, Nordstrom Personal Stylist at our Fashion Island store in Newport Beach, California, has handpicked some fab fête-ready pieces that can be worn in so many different ways. Embellished and versatile? Absolutely.

For the quintessential Tibi girl, shopping is more of an art form than a chore, which is why we tapped the brand’s founding designer, Amy Smilovic, to offer some insight on her best buys for the holidays.
“I love giving gifts that combine the recipient’s personality with mine. Each year I buy a stack of blank cards and sketch the people I’m gifting, with a holiday spin,” says Amy, who launched Tibi in 1997. “My mom has a collection from over the years; they’re great keepsakes.” ‘Tis the season for a DYI approach to gifting. Personal touches, like designing your own wrapping paper or creating a card, add an intimate feel to the goodies you present to your loved ones.
Be sure to look the part at all your gift-giving occasions by wearing relaxed fabrics that reveal a feminine cut—hallmarks of Amy’s evolving design aesthetic. “The Tibi girl is dressing up for holiday dinner parties, whether it be with friends, co-workers or family. The trick is staying statement chic without overdoing it,” adds Amy, whose fans include Blake Lively, Olivia Palermo and Hanneli Mustaparta. When it comes to looking festive, Amy advises to “Go for updated classics with a twist. Swap out your LBD for a look that incorporates luxe textures and fabrics—anything with brocade or beading. Avoid looking garish when wearing rich materials by choosing pieces in modern hues of dark navy and burgundy.”
L to R: Tibi Silk Shift Dress, a vivid hue will energize your festive outlook on life; Tibi Intarsia Knit Sweater Dress, blocks of color and a geometric motif are sure to get you noticed; Tibi Coral Print Silk Dress, a pop of blue coral is fresh and fun
