Lainy’s back for round two on the Thread! Today’s look is all about texture and wild accessories. I am obsessed with mohair and absolutely must have Lainy’s perfect sweater. Keeping her clothes monochromatic allowed her bold accessories to really stand out.

Those Mugler heels are to die for, even though I know I would fall flat on my face!

Our Designer Buying Team just returned from Europe after a busy trip devoted to attending Fashion Week runway shows and buying appointments (dream jobs!). Here’s a small roundup of pictures they snapped while on location in Paris, London and Milan.

I’ll admit it: I style-stalk Miss Joanna Hillman. She is both edgy and classic, and I love her statement bold lip. Today, she’s rocking a trendy sportswear-inspired look. Her clean color-blocking is refreshing after a week of a million and one mixed prints.

As Senior Fashion Market Editor at Harper’s Bazaar, she puts her style know-how to excellent use!

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: Simplicity can be a standout. Flor looks radiant with her chic separates and clean, color-block handbag.

Flor is a freelance writer, covering shows for Cosmo Latina and Telemundo. She has her own site too (Flor de María Fashion)–busy lady!

What a wicked game. Not the one these ladies are playing (whatever it is), the one Prada is playing–teasing us all with the fall/winter 2012 collection. Those geometric prints and enormously stunning embellishments…it’s like a glimpse into some parallel universe where life is a glamorous 1960s/2060s mashup. Beam us up, Mrs. Prada!

Roman Polanski, Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Kingsley—and Prada and a fabulous jacket. There’s little more that needs to be said (other than, enjoy Prada’s newest short). Swoon!

It may still be cold—and even snowing—in parts of the U.S. (i.e. Seattle), but that’s not going to stop us from ogling the amazing shoes just released for spring. So long, boots, fur and shearling; hello, sandals, heels and open toes!

We’ll be the first to admit, these spring footwear trends are getting us just a little giddy.

1 – Crafty: Earthy & Woven. Play up your back-to-nature side with heels and wedges decked out in basket weaves, rope details and neutral tones. Make no mistake, the DIY inspirations and hand-hewn details on these shoes are seriously high fashion. [Pictured: Miu Miu Wedge Sandal]

2 – Splashy Glam: Bright & Exaggerated. With electric neons and over-the-top shapes, this footwear trend isn’t for the faint of heart. The only rule of thumb? Go bold, or go home. [Pictured: Reed Krakoff 'Architect' Wedge Sandal]

3 – Charm: Feminine & Playful. Girly goes glam in antique pinks, ankle straps and frou-frou details like bows, ruffles and bitty buttons. [Pictured: MARC BY MARC JACOBS Platform Sandal]

4 – Mid-Century: Mod & Vampy. Take classic, reinvented shapes, ’60s pop and a sultry palette, and you have the recipe for this spring’s alluringly retro heels. [Pictured: Yves Saint Laurent 'Riviera' Sandal]

5 – New Horizons: Neutral & Minimal. Get back to basics with simple straps, wood-grain finishes and elegant silhouettes with an animalistic vibe. It’s desert-chic at its finest. [Pictured: Prada Wood Heel Genuine Python Platform Sandal]

6 – Streamlined: Sleek & Angular. Sandals that look like a Mies van der Rohe ‘less is more’ masterpiece? Yes, please. Look for sharp, architectural shapes in clean black, stark white and lustrous metallic. [Pictured: Diane von Furstenberg 'Elsa' Sandal]
