Milan Fashion Week continues with five quintessential Italian houses hitting their runway stride. Check out shoes and handbags from Prada and Fendi then that ’70s show at Max Mara and Just Cavalli. Plus, Pop Art menswear from Dsquared2.
You all know how much I love it when friends are perfectly coordinated, so spotting Athena and Keri was a coup! Athena’s black and white outfit is a really cool mix of retro inspiration and ultra-modern styling. It’s exciting to see long-sleeved dresses back in the mix at long last. Keri says she’s hoping summer will stay a little longer and embraced the all-white, casual-chic look. Love that safari belt, Keri!
Zina has really nailed this normcore trend. I love when a woman can mix the unexpected and make it look effortlessly cool. Her light, pleated midi skirt adds just enough feminine chic to her sporty white sweatshirt.
She keeps to her minimalist vibe with spare accessories, and designer sneakers are an edgy contrast to her easy and relaxed outfit. Fashion bloggers like Zina (Fashion Vibe) are full of inspiration this season!
Our Director of Creative Projects and Pop-In Shop curator Olivia Kim offers up daily inspiration, favorite products and things she’s super in love with right now.
“I found my mule for the season! This goes with everything from skirts to skinny jeans and can even transition to fall. I usually wear cute socks with my mules—or with any shoe, for that matter!”
Here’s a shout-out to our Downtown Seattle flagship store and Personal Stylist Brent Martin, who put together the spring-perfect look for Jessi in the store’s Facebook photo shoot, Morning at the Market.

Finally, some time for retail therapy, one of my favorite things to do in Paris! First stop: Comme des Garçons. What do you think? Pretty flattering, wouldn’t you say?
I’ve been really looking forward to catching up with Brian Phillips of Black Frame, the PR agency who handles the Pop-In @Nordstrom press. We found this super-yummy Spanish place in the 2nd called Da Rosa. So excited to have a salad after all the pastries, breads, and croissants I’ve been eating.
And then off to Prada, where I fell in love with this necklace of gorgeous green feathers. Then I had a genius idea! If I can make it a headband, it’s a 2-in-1! Reminded me of one of the first shoots that Corinne Day did with Kate Moss. You know the one?
And a last-night pizza party with the boys—Joey & James, Ben and our fave: Zac of VFILES, who partnered with us for the Heartbreakers Club! Strath was there too, but he’s hiding behind the pizza box. (JK, he’s taking the pic!)
And I’m off. My room’s a mess. I have 20 minutes to pack. And it’s not all going to fit! C’est la vie! See ya back in Seattle!
We caught the action backstage at Prada‘s art-deco-inspired show at Milan Fashion Week. Creative director Miuccia Prada cited the cutting-edge films of German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder as a primary source of inspiration, reflected in graphic prints, shearling overcoats and a moody palette full of purples and reds.
It’s pretty clear that the moto jacket is here to stay, and I love how many different versions of this classic cut we’ve seen here in London.
Nicole keeps her look monochromatic and minimal. Her bejeweled blouse adds a femme touch and that bright box clutch gives the ensemble a pop of color. However, it’s Nicole’s amazing boots that steal the show!
Anna Cottrell’s mix of punky leather and classic suiting is such a clever way to beat the weather and add some serious modern edge to pink tweed. This Arkansas native is currently a blogger (tulip.louise), but she’s spent years honing her style skills in the fashion industry. She says she loves to experiment with trends, and I have to say, I love the results!
I was thrilled to run into Michelle Smith, the designer of Milly. Michelle said she had an amazing show, but she was glad to take a breath and enjoy Fashion Week from another perspective. Of course, Michelle’s personal style is super-chic. I am totally enamored by her iridescent skirt and voluminous fur coat, and her leopard accessories add a playful pop of print. Thanks for sharing a moment with us, Michelle!
