Julia is channeling a grown-up Wednesday Addams with this ensemble. A black minidress with a contrasting Peter Pan collar is both sweet and goth. A leopard fur coat and steel-toe oxfords amp up the edge exponentially. If I could pull off a Louise Brooks haircut, I would steal Julia’s look in an instant!

Highlights and commentary from yesterday’s Milan Fashion Week runway shows: Prada plays with pastels in a subversive take on the retro-futurism of the 1960s, while Moschino brings the bling in a campy, loud ‘n’ proud collection that riffs on the street culture of the early ’90s.

Jenna Gottlieb would fit right in back home in the Pacific Northwest. From her hunter plaid to her hiking boots, this is one classic outdoorsy ensemble. Jenna is a senior fashion writer over at Lucky Mag, so she knows how to navigate a New York winter fashionably. I love the functionality of this cute and cozy look. Stay warm, Jenna!

The lovely Camille Charrière is a recurring favorite on The Thread and I am a total fangirl for this French blogger. Camille has eclectic taste, but can pull off any look. She also is fun and laid-back and doesn’t let the chaos of Fashion Week affect her.

I absolutely adore the ’70s revival themes that have been popping up this season and Camille’s look fits the trend nicely. Her belted shawl is the centerpiece to her otherwise casual look. I can’t wait to ditch my winter boots for cute pointed flats, too!

As shoe styles from the resort season move over to make room for new spring arrivals—like these from Prada, the Alexander McQueen double-strap, Vince’s entire new suite and these Loeffler Randall slides (insert hearts-for-eyes emoji)—we’re really feeling the whole genre-mashing sportif angle. You know: socks and sandals all day long, and sneakers accessorized with anklets and slouchy knee-highs.

It works well with our Wellness Realness focus too, so we decided to hit pause on cold-weather boots and take a spin through a selection of street style snaps from our girl Crystal Nicodemus to examine how fashion’s best and brightest rock the look.

Rhian’s palette is so, so good. It’s both autumnal and bright, and has a touch of Seventies inspiration. The normcore style of a midi skirt and socks is très popular in Paris, and I love how Rhian’s simple cuts still stand out. Rhian’s sweater has a secret surprise, too: The back is covered with vibrant feathers!

You all know how much I love it when friends are perfectly coordinated, so spotting Athena and Keri was a coup! Athena’s black and white outfit is a really cool mix of retro inspiration and ultra-modern styling. It’s exciting to see long-sleeved dresses back in the mix at long last. Keri says she’s hoping summer will stay a little longer and embraced the all-white, casual-chic look. Love that safari belt, Keri!

Zina has really nailed this normcore trend. I love when a woman can mix the unexpected and make it look effortlessly cool. Her light, pleated midi skirt adds just enough feminine chic to her sporty white sweatshirt.

She keeps to her minimalist vibe with spare accessories, and designer sneakers are an edgy contrast to her easy and relaxed outfit. Fashion bloggers like Zina (Fashion Vibe) are full of inspiration this season!
