“I am actually in Nordstrom right now, checking out at the cosmetics counter,” says Jacey Duprie, the creator and editor behind the popular blog Damsel in Dior, when she answers the phone.
When not traveling the planet snapping shots of beautiful outfits in glamorous settings, the petite blonde resides in West Hollywood, where she runs her website and Instagram channel. Duprie exerts considerable fashion influence online with her photo posts about fashion, beauty and decor. Recently, she partnered with Splendid on a collection of cotton pieces. We spoke with her about her love of tees, her creativity and this new collaboration.
Tell us how this collaboration with Splendid came about.
I am the daughter of a cotton farmer. I grew up in southern Texas. Farming has been in my family for 175 years. Having grown up on a cotton farm, it seemed like an organic fit. It has been a dream of mine to do a cotton collection, but doing that on my own seemed daunting. So I was at a showroom in L.A. that reps Splendid, and a good friend of mine at the showroom made the introduction. It was a nice fit from the beginning. I grew up wearing their clothes. They let me have almost complete control over the designs, and I am very thankful for that creative freedom.
