“The blending of my work and personal life is almost seamless. I feel very fortunate that my business partner is my dearest friend. And I love doing something creative that fuels my passion.” –Shelley Callaghan, Co-owner /Creative Director, Antica Farmacista, Seattle, WA

Shelley’s chic yet comfortable style is reflected in everything she does. “My family is a huge part of my life. They’ve shaped who I am, and they always inspire me to be something new. My mom never takes herself too seriously and that’s one great thing she’s taught me.” –Bonnie Robbins, art student, Seattle
, WA

Bonnie’s independent, creative spirit really inspires us. She’s just beginning to chart her path, but she gives us a sense that her foundation of family, nature and talent will take her far. We photographed her at one of her favorite places—her childhood home in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood.

“I’ve been a librarian for quite a few years now…We have a city of readers, and that’s a good thing in my profession.” –Marcellus Turner, City Librarian at the Seattle Public Library

Seattle is consistently ranked as one of the top most literate cities in the U.S, and a great book becomes even better when one of the people helping us discover favorite new reads is the natty Mr. Turner. We give him high marks for his bookish blend of classic and modern men’s style.

“Photography is all about finding the moment. It’s nice to know when to put the camera down. Sometimes I’ll ask myself, ‘Do I want to just experience this, or should I take a photograph?’” —Connie ‘Coco’ Aramaki, freelance photographer, Seattle, WA

We were drawn to Coco’s easy-going style, inspiration and bright personality. She’s an award-winning photojournalist as well as a fashion and travel photographer. Something as simple as a walk through her Beacon Hill neighborhood is enough to get her camera clicking.

There’s something impossibly cool about a great artist—especially one who can work with molten glass. Add a strong sense of community and respect for others, and you’ve got something totally irresistible.

“We’ve created a community here. This is a place where people can take themselves a little less seriously, and inject some wonder and curiosity back into their lives.” –Gabe Johnson, curator at Horses Cut Shop Event Space, Seattle, Wa.

We love Gabe because he’s a cultural instigator who embodies the DIY, frontier attitude that still exists in the west. He has a knack for bringing people together for creative exploration and unconventional fun. Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood (nicknamed The Center of the Universe by its residents) makes a perfectly quirky home for Horses Cut Shop.
