As much as I love the moto jacket, it’s nice to see another leather style represented every once in awhile. The sleek, sharp lines of this jacket are appealing and work well with the more relaxed separates of Rose’s outfit. All-white looks are clean and perfect for the modern minimalist. Platform oxfords and a designer bag add some premium flair.

In 2012, Kathleen Wright left the business world to begin a small nonprofit. That global artisan-focused fashion industry game changer, Piece & Co, is just three years old, but today it takes a major step forward.

Nordstrom teamed up with Wright to connect rural craftspeople with brands such as Current/Elliott, Tory Burch, Joie and Theory so that designers for those lines might utilize gorgeous handmade textiles for their spring 2015 collections. Those dresses, separates and accessories are live on our site as of now.

The results of these collaborations won’t just change your wardrobe; they might change your life, and they will definitely change the lives of the women who had a hand in bringing them to you. I sat down with Wright to talk about three of the women she’s met in her Piece & Co travels, women whose talent, skills and dedication are changing the way we see style this spring.

It was a beautiful sunny morning in Paris today. Early-morning shows are always fun (except for having to wake up at the crack of dawn) and way less chaotic. I caught up with Leaf to snap a shot of her lovely modern-casual outfit. I am a big fan of monochromatic looks, especially in whites and neutrals. Leaf’s ribbed sweater and culottes are perfect for the season and the long suede coat is tres chic.

Helena Bordon is a regular feature here on The Thread, thanks to her fun, trendy style. White shirting is having a huge moment, which I fully support. This sleek, striped maxi skirt works well with a menswear shirt. Bright heels and coordinating double bags complete this contrasting look.

The sleeveless belted coat is shaping up to be a trend to watch. I’ve spotted several in Milan, and there is something really interesting about the style. The pale blue color of Kayla’s trench is perfect for spring. A cashmere turtleneck and flared denim are de rigueur this season and pair well with the trendy trench.

The snow didn’t keep Ania Stalman (Ania.B) away from Lincoln Center this morning, but it did force her to add extra layers to her Fashion Week look. Luckily, shawls are trending strongly here in NYC, so this grey-scale wrap fits right in. Ania also said she switched from stilettos to heavy boots to get some traction on the slick city streets. Smart (and cute) call!

I have to tell you guys, Shiona is one of the coolest editors at Fashion Week. She’s got an awesome attitude and handles the hordes of photographers who are constantly surrounding her with grace. Plus, it’s refreshing to see someone smile for the camera! Shiona never lets me down style-wise, either. She’s always rocking a chic look with a twist. Loving this shirtdress with the belted shawl—and you can’t go wrong with fringe this season!

Cosmopolitan magazine’s illustrious Fashion Market Editor, Shiona Turini, was gracious enough to let me do a mini photo shoot with her today. It was blazing hot, but she was a trooper! Shiona’s style is pure NYC femme. White is still one of the most popular colors of the year, but I like that Shiona added a little flavor to her look with a sleek snakeskin pencil skirt. But, I have to admit, my real obsession is that gorgeous patchwork Dior purse!

I know I’ve already raved about stripes a dozen times, but they’re just the most versatile pattern ever! Nausheen’s bold, body-con pencil skirt and knotted silk blouse combo is yet another excellent example of casual urban femme.

As a stylist, Nausheen Shah is always thinking ahead, but keeps her roots in the classics. I wish I could have Nausheen style my outfits everyday!

Look who’s back for another round: Aimee Song! I can’t get enough of Aimee’s ever-changing outfits. Today she gave us yet another perfect look. The black and white palette lends her urban-casual suiting some great contrast, and that cheeky tee is perfect for this popular blogger (Song of Style), who has practically built an empire around her personal style. Until next time, Aimee!
