Trendspotting: Expect London Girls to Wear These 3 Statement Hair Accessories

With New York now in the rearview, our eyes are glued to the streets and the runways across the pond. We don’t know about you, but we always get goosebumps on the first day of London Fashion Week. Maybe it’s because the English roses we see traipsing to and from the shows always give off a cool-girl vibe that’s thoughtful and never overdone; there’s an element of risk-taking to British street style that’s made to look effortless from head to toe.

But before we get too ahead of ourselves (after all, it’s only day one), we’re starting with the statement hair accessories we’re expecting to see on our favorite It girls. From ’90s barrettes to unexpected ways to use a hair tie, we’re showing you how to style the accessory trends that are going to take over London.

Turn the classic ponytail up a notch via chic layered hair ties with cool textures, pearls and detail.

Weave ribbons, silk scarves or dainty headbands through the hair along the crown of your head to add a romantic and minimalistic finish.

Sleek, pulled-back hair evokes the Robert Palmer videos of the ’80s, while duckbill clips and barrettes are a nod to the ’90s supermodel. But combine both, and you have a sculpted and thoughtful look that’s low maintenance but still impactful in its structure.

Did anyone even know Ivanka had products at Nordstrom before the election?
NO I did not think so!
Taking her line out was due to decline in sales.
    Everything is not politics.
    Nordstrom is forever!!
Thank god Trump will not be:)

  • Candese M. Alexander February 20, 2017, 4:29 pm

I will shop at Nordstrom again when they bring Ivanka Trump products back, and keep their political views to themselves. Do you really expect anyone to believe her products weren’t selling? Come. On.

Nordstrom is a department store not a political vehicle. I’m so sick of everyone caving in to loud mouthed leftists.

Andi if Nordstrom really doesn’t like Ivanka Trump because of her beliefs, then they are guilty of what the left accuses everyone else of doing. Why not sell her products and donate the money they make to the political cause they choose?

Nordstrom will have no more of my money. Idiots.

  • MD February 20, 2017, 4:11 pm

Will be canceling my Nordstrom Visa soon… your business is fashion not politics.

  • Megan February 20, 2017, 1:28 pm

I buy absolutely everything at Nordstrom due to the amazing service- I did not think I could be more loyal to them until they dropped Trump’s line of products! I went out and spent $4000 there just to celebrate! Keep up the outstanding customer service. You’ve made me an even more loyal shopper

  • Jessie Edwards February 20, 2017, 11:26 am

I sure am shopping and loads of great looks too! Like your politics also!!

  • Helen Mineo February 20, 2017, 9:53 am

I will not stop shopping or streams I am happy that they stood up for what they need to do or say no matter who the person was. If the collection is not Sally and you feel you need to drop it you have every right to drop it. I love Nordstrom’s I will continue to shop there and I respect their buyers and the designers they choose. I didn’t find it political I found it to be business. No one in any business should be bullied into any decisions we make

  • Mary February 20, 2017, 4:38 am

Will not set foot in any if your stores, too political and disappointing!

  • S February 20, 2017, 12:02 am

Whoa! Just here to read about the hair tips, but shocked at the commentary posted.
The woman’s clothes don’t sell, so Nordstrom no longer carries it. Period.
I will continue shopping at Nordstrom because of the wonderful product and unsurpassed customer service.
My strong suspicion is the remarks above came from those who were
Never Nordstrom shoppers to begin with.
    Long time Nordstrom shopper

  • Karen February 19, 2017, 8:44 pm

I share Russ’ exact sentiments! I was so disappointed that NORDSTROM would take the action of pulling Ivanka’s line of clothing! Shaking my head in disbelief!!! NOT A FAN OF NORDSTROM anymore!!!!!

  • whitney February 19, 2017, 5:15 pm

keep leaving, more for me 🙂

  • Denise Harrison February 19, 2017, 4:41 pm

I’m so happy you are discontinuing Ivanka Trumo’s products. Thank you so much!!

  • Jann February 19, 2017, 4:29 pm

You ignorant people out there? Do you have any children? I will continue to shop at Nordstrom even if they promote the President’s daughter. Stop drinking the koolaid and educate yourself as to where this country is really going? Do you want to be safe? Maybe after your child gets killed in a terrorist act you might think differently. Or maybe you did not lose a loved one in 911. Its obvious you just don’t like Trump and pissed off at Nordstrom. Shop there for the customer service, great return policy, great caring employees. Who cares about anything else. I suppose a shirt with Chelsea Clinton would be a different story had Hillary Clinton won the election. I hope you post this Nordstrom. See you soon!

  • jenny February 19, 2017, 12:53 pm

i glad tha store did and is nothing about political i be one the costumer now thank you

  • Mary February 19, 2017, 7:58 am

I’ll be shopping more at Nordstrom. They made a good business decision based on declining sales, regardless of the designer an potential backlash. Go Nordstrom!

  • Melissa Feldkamp February 18, 2017, 10:30 pm

Russ and Sue- Ivanka’s brand wasn’t profitable for the company, it’s concrete and quite simple economics. Sounds like you are boycotting a company based on your own misinformation/bias! While you may have liked to see her products remain in the store, one shouldn’t forget Nordstrom’s long history of philanthropic investment.

  • Debbie Wooten February 18, 2017, 6:24 pm

I am unsubscribing to the emails and will never shop your store again. Dillards it is. You made a bad decision to fold to the leftist pressure when dropping the Ivanka line. Trying to blame it on poor sales when other retail outlets are selling at a high rate is so obvious.

  • Leslie Young February 18, 2017, 4:31 pm

I will no longer be shopping at Nordstrom (used to be my favorite store) and am currently investigating an alternative credit card to replace the Nordstrom card I have cut up. You are a retailer and I am so disappointed that you have ventured into the realm of politics. Shame on you!!

  • Ruth McElroy February 18, 2017, 3:57 pm

After 30 years of being a loyal Nordstrom customer, I will no longer shop with your company. You should stick to retail not politics.

  • barbara February 18, 2017, 2:30 pm

If Geraldo Rivera knows you were political by discontinuing Ivanka Trumps line and says he is closing his account with you, I will follow suit. THIS WAS NOT THE AMERICAN THING TO DO.

  • anne February 18, 2017, 1:39 pm

I think their decision was more of a business one than political. If I dropped every store/corporation, etc., every time they say or do something ‘political’ there would be no shopping, eating, etc., ever. People can do what they want; it’s their money after all but give us a break! Did you buy any of her clothes???

  • LM February 18, 2017, 1:04 pm

I’m going to shop at your store MORE because of your choice to stop selling that stuff!

  • Mary February 18, 2017, 11:38 am

You are hurting your company by siding with the Liberal Left Agenda. Impartiality in Business is smarter.

  • Lisa February 18, 2017, 10:35 am

Doesn’t bother me one bit! I will continue to shop!! I never purchased any of her clothing line before and still haven’t. I just never run across her clothing line, and I shop A LOT!

  • Cindy February 18, 2017, 10:24 am

Sue, Dave and Russ, you are ridiculous to take that position! As you say, Sue, she is not the president, she is his daughter and her line wasn’t selling! Are they supposed to keep a line that’s not selling BC her father is the president? If they dropped her 2 months later, would your opinion have changed? No.

  • Shirley Guzman February 18, 2017, 4:35 am

I was so proud that u didn’t allow the bullies and thugs push u around . But then u anouced that u were dropping Ivonxas lineage . Wihich makes me make the decision to not shop in ur store any longer .

  • Sara Cannon February 18, 2017, 12:34 am

Nordstrom has always been my favorite shopping site, but now that you’ve dropped the Ivanka lines you are etched in my democratic heart forever. Thank you.

  • christina sias February 17, 2017, 11:57 pm

I am going to buy one item from the popup shop for every comment like this I see posted.

    Love this tutorial!

  • susan February 17, 2017, 9:44 pm

As a 30 year customer, I will no longer buy from Nordstrom. Mr Nordstrom just had to get personal and tell us he sides with immigrants against OUR President. Well, that’s all I need to hear, buy bye.

  • Lisa February 17, 2017, 2:46 pm

Shame on you. I will never shop in your store again. Neither will my friends or family.

  • Diane Green February 17, 2017, 2:29 pm

Shame, shame on you. Because he won, you feel you lost. He is the President. This is America. Give the man a chance to pull us out of the hell, our first African American President ran us into. Let us all take a deep breath and respect the Country. I am done with Nordstrum!
    God Bless America!

  • Sue Dave February 17, 2017, 11:10 am

Good Russ ! We have to show them there are consequences. Done with Nordstroms !

  • Sue Dave February 17, 2017, 6:41 am

Dropping Nordstroms ‼️ I do 80 % of my shopping with Nordstroms….. no more! Your Policial dropping of president daughter product line the month he is elected. Hummm sounds policial to me . Done with you! She is not president she just the daughter of the president. Thought Nordstroms was above taking policial views out of respect of their costumers.

  • russ February 17, 2017, 5:13 am

I am NOT shopping at your store anymore because of your political position.
