New Pop-In Shop: Brite Lites_Gift City

The next evolution of our custom-curated Pop-In Shops is now live online and in selected stores. In stark contrast to our previous Pop-In, French Fling, which was a wistful homage to Gainsbourg ballads and Godard films, this one is more like a monstrously cool mash-up of a mad scientist’s laboratory and 1982 sci-fi epic Tron.

Olivia Kim, Nordstrom Director of Creative Projects and mastermind behind each new Pop-In Shop, compared her new creation to “rainbow sprinkles on a vanilla cake.” [Read her full interview on The Thread.] She was speaking metaphorically, of course—describing unique holiday gift ideas on a neutral backdrop. All we know is, with rare gems like brain-in-a-jar candles, Keith Haring skis, rap-themed coloring books and pink Everlast boxing gloves neatly situated amidst chain-link fence and neon lights—there’s no better place to shop for the junior CSIs, artsy skiers, notorious B.I.G. kids and female boxers on your list.

The photos above (snapped at the Pop-In installation at our Seattle flagship) are via @Nordstrom and @NordstromMen on Instagram. Follow those feeds as well as our blogs for continued updates, interviews, and product features from this and future Pop-In Shops.

For now, shop our Editor’s Picks below for the freaky, functional, and just plain awesome gifts we hope to receive this season.
