Retro Redux

What we’re loving right now: a retro twist in modern weddings. From wedding dresses to cake toppers, we’re seeing a trend of ’50s and ’60s styles making their way into the wedding world, adding a hint of sophistication and a bit of fun.

Tea-length gowns, perfect pearls, Veronica Lake waves, birdcage veils, red lips and cat eyes are gorgeous for brides who want a throwback to the past. Fit-and-flare bridesmaid dresses in bold colors like these from Alfred Sung complete the sweet-yet-sassy look. For decor, think bright and cheery: pops of red, pink and yellow, your grandparents’ cake topper, striped straws, sunglasses and maybe even an old beach cruiser bike!

Check out our collage of ideas, put together with the help of SnapKnot photographers and our wedding stationery partner Wedding Paper Divas, plus a few more friends in on the retro redux!
