Here & Now: Tory Burch Beauty

HERO

Iconic designer Tory Burch’s approach to beauty reflects her fashion philosophy of understated chic. Feminine and tomboy. Clean and polished. Glowing skin, a hint of color, a modern yet classic scent. With Tory’s collection of makeup, bath and body products and fragrance now available at Nordstrom, we wanted to connect with the busy entrepreneur and style maven for a few quick questions:

BEAUTY BLOG: As a fashion designer, your collections have evolved through the years in a way that maintains your signature style but stays current. How do you see your beauty line evolving or expanding?
TORY BURCH: For now we’re focused on launching our fragrance and beauty collection globally and introducing our lipstick color collection with Nordstrom. We will continue to expand the collection as we learn the market in different parts of the world.

Do you see any beauty trends that you’d like to play with, or any particular ‘dream products’ you’d like to add down the road?
It would be great to add products that make getting ready easier, like our two-in-one ‘Cat’s Meow’ Lip & Cheek Tint—women generally don’t have a lot of time and want a routine that is quick and effortless.

Memories of home: Tory’s aesthetic is deeply influenced by childhood recollections.

You were recently honored by Phoenix House, not only for your accomplishments as a designer, but as an outspoken supporter and advocate of helping women through your Tory Burch Foundation. Do you have any plans to tie your beauty and fragrance line to a philanthropic effort or cause?
We hope to—social responsibility is woven into the fabric of our company and we always think about ways to give back.

What’s your own beauty routine like?
When it comes to beauty I think less is more. I wash my face and put on moisturizer in the morning and my makeup routine is pretty minimal—tinted moisturizer, mascara, blush and our nude-pink lipstick. For an evening out, I’ll add a smoky eye.
