Backpacks: also known as the container of all things crucial during the school year. They are basically my life and they keep me sane, so I figured I’d show y’all some of the things I like to carry in mine for school. (Cue the “Backpack” song from Dora the Explorer. Haha.)
A makeup bag, water bottle, some notebooks and headphones are just a few of my essentials.
Yikes, it’s that time of year…yeah, I’m talking about back to school. Depending on when you return, August or September can be pretty stressful. To help get past the dreadfulness that comes with summer ending, why not load up on supercute back-to-school accessories?
The brand that has it all is ban.do: agendas, pencil pouches, travel mugs, and, uhhh, best of all—STICKERS (and I mean like really, really cute stickers). Just looking at their products will increase happiness levels.

And check out their Instagram because, again, it’s more cuteness. 🙂

I don’t love wearing much color, but I still love looking for inspiration in bright and festive tones. I snapped these up-close photos of traditional Indian outfits and bangles during my stay in London.
All the vivid hues have inspired me to print these photos and create a colorful mood board.
Aren’t they beautiful? Whether you like wearing color or not, I hope these rich photos inspire you to incorporate more color in your life!

I love relaxing on Sundays, but boredom often strikes and I find myself with the urge to go out. This past weekend, I headed over to the local flea market–I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but was more interested in seeing whatever caught my eye. It was a lovely day filled with sunshine and lots of vintage goodies!
From Polaroid cameras to teacups and shabby chic decor, here are a few antique items that caught my eye.
OOTD: It happened to be one of those days when it’s pretty chilly in the shade but then super hot in the sun. To stay comfortable I wore skinny jeans, a striped tee and black booties.

From a few of my music posts, you guys might know that I love music with acoustic and folky sounds. I adore Ben Howard (he’s quite possibly my favorite artist), so I was ecstatic when this film, Austin to Boston came out.
Austin to Boston is a beautiful documentary that follows four bands (Ben Howard, The Staves, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Bears Den) as they tour via road trip from Austin to Boston. I ended up loving this documentary so much that I had to share it. It made me want to grab my friends and take a road trip ASAP!
Austin to Boston is available on Netflix, so go ahead and add it to your list.

In my family, surfing and all things “boarding” (surfboard, paddleboard, skateboard) are very much a part of our lives and culture. I first learned how to surf when I was 5 years old on my first trip to the Philippines. Many of you might be wondering, how do I surf while living in the Pacific Northwest? Well, the solution is a wetsuit. But since the nearest beach is at least an hour away, paddleboarding is an easy alternative.
I went paddleboarding with my little brother Jimmy, little sister Sofie, my cousin Reba, and my best friend Gabby. We paddleboard along the river but, due to ships passing, we have to paddleboard in coves to prevent getting washed out into the middle of the river with all the boats and ships.
Here are a few pictures from when we went paddleboarding, I encourage everyone to try it. It is super easy to pick up and a great all-body workout.
Can you find my brother floating by himself, enjoying life off in the distance? (Cue laughing/crying emoji)
My cousin had never paddleboarded before, so in this picture she’s mentally preparing herself for potentially falling into the cold river water.
The best stance for paddleboarding is to lean a little forward, feet slightly apart and knees slightly bent.
Before I left to the beach the other day, I thought I’d take inventory of what’s in my beach bag.
I like to keep my bag light, but I still have to pack the essentials. When I’m just lounging on the sand, I love to pull out one of my favorite books for some light reading or a sketchbook for some beach inspired doodling. I love documenting my day, so my GoPro is perfect for capturing moments in the water!

I hope all of you catch some sunshine on the beach this summer!

If one thing’s for sure this summer, it’s that temperatures are rising. Here in Cali, I mean seriously R I S I N G–I’m not about that 100-degree weather!
To keep cool this summer, I’ll be posting some yummy and refreshing recipes.
Today’s post is a super-easy summer fruit bowl. Açai bowls have been huge this year, and this bowl is nearly identical. All you have to do is replace the açai with any of your favorite homemade smoothies (or go straight for the antioxidant packed açai)!
– Any fresh fruit
– Any smoothie OR frozen acai
– Optional toppings: chia seeds, almonds, coconut, etc.
The smoothie recipe I used:
– Vanilla yogurt
– Fresh strawberries
– Fresh peaches
Put it all together, and you’ve got a simple summer bowl! I also find it quite fun to decorate the top of the bowl with lots of fresh fruit.
Stay cool this summer!

Beach days are the best days. Now that it’s summer, more often than not I find myself coasting along the highway, headed toward the big blue sea.
Whenever I go to the beach, I like to take a few things with me: reflective sunnies, high-waisted shorts and a fun, colorful towel are just a few of my essentials.
Ellie and I wrapped up nice and snug on this windy summer afternoon.
Bubbles are kinda my newest obsession, so of course I couldn’t resist bringing some along!
Happy summer, everyone! I am now officially on summer break *whoop whoop* which means FRREEEDDDOOOMMMMMMM!!!! Every year on the last day of school, my friends and I like to do something together. Being the girly-girl teenagers that we are, this year we decided to do our two favorite things: shop and eat.
While strolling around town, Sherrine and I spotted this beautiful mosaic wall and we just couldn’t resist stopping for a quick pic…candid, anyone?
The mall we went to had a Ferris wheel—I mean, what??? It also had some amazing shopping (Nordstrom was a must, of course) and restaurants.
Now you see me and Ellie posing in front of our new favorite wall. As you can tell, we’ve both been loving rockin’ pretty and pink prints for the summertime!
No day can be complete without a sweet treat! It was extra hot this day in SoCal, so frozen yogurt seemed the perfect way to go!
