Pink Lemon-HEY!

Hey, guys! Today I have a quick li’l OOTD for you all.

It’s no surprise that pink is one of my fave colors, especially when it comes in the form of a cute sundress. Something that is also pink and happens to be delicious is strawberry lemonade. Mine appears to be red, but that’s only because I decided to add some raspberries for extra oomph…YUM.

I just couldn’t resist giving my drink its own mini photo shoot. Weird? Maybe. Totes cute? Definitely!

Yours truly,

Welcome back, beautiful people! Today I have the next installment in my healthy summer series…

One of my favorite ways to get a li’l bit of exercise in each day is by taking my pretty pup, Olive, on a walk. It’s especially fun when I put her in a cute harness and adventure to the park, where we get in some fun bonding time and tend to get lots of compliments…Olive, not me!

I mean, seriously—if this doesn’t belong on a doggie commercial, I don’t know what does.

Yours truly,

Well, hello there, everyone! Summer is almost here (only one more week of school—let’s do this!) and that means that you and I will most likely be spending a lot more time in a bathing suit…DUN, DUN, DUN! But no need to fear because I’m here to give you all some tips on how to be a bit more healthy and happy this summer. Enjoy!

Let’s start out with some of my workout essentials:

Fun socks: I gotta wear socks, so I might as well make them a super bright and fun pair to jazz up any outfit.

Headphones: Used to listen to all my favorite jams and pump me up!

Detox water: It’s a fun way to spice up plain ol’ water. Plus, it looks super pretty.

Deodorant: I don’t want to smell bad…pretty self-explanatory!

Lip balm: Whenever I exercise outside my lips tend to get really chapped, so this stuff is a lifesaver.

I don’t know about you guys, but putting a bit of effort into my workout outfit really gets me motivated! I make sure to pick some fun neon colors, which are especially great for summertime.

Close-up pic of my detox water because it was just so intriguing to me. I used some cucumber, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries in mine, and it was to die for!

Yours truly,

Party Like It’s 1920

This year my English class read The Great Gatsby. I’m sure you’ve heard about the book, either by simply reading it, watching the gorgeous movie or by hearing about the infamous characters Jay Gatsby or Daisy Buchanan.

As the end of the year rolled around, the majority of the 11th grade English classes attended a Gatsby party. There was one rule: you had to dress as if you were in the 1920s. It was pretty awesome seeing my fellow classmates dressed as flappers and gangsters.

Take a look. First things first: mirror pics in the girls room.

Emma stepped right out of the 1920s in her pearls and feathers.

Something my friends and I really enjoy is having little photo shoots. It’s a great way to pass time and you’re left with tons of cute pics to post on Instagram…I mean, what’s better?

For this shoot, we decided to dress all bohemian and take a trip up to the mountains, where we pranced through fields and just had a great time with each other.

Now I know not everyone has an expensive camera just lying around, but you can totally use your phone or even ask your friends or parents if they have a camera you can borrow.

I’ll be the first to admit how much I love posing in front of the camera and workin’ it, but something about actually taking the pictures is exhilarating yet relaxing at the same time.

I had a blast playing photographer and I bet you guys will, too.

Yours truly,

My Art Portfolio

Hey, y’all! School is finally coming to an end, Advanced Placement (AP) exams are over and I can almost taste summer. One AP class I took this year was Studio Art. Art has always held a place in my heart and I’d love to share that part of myself with you lovelies.

This art class gave me complete and total freedom, and really allowed me to explore more as an artist. I’m not sure how Studio Art classes work at your school, but if you’re also passionate about art, I definitely recommend taking the AP class.

 Here’s a glimpse of my 2D portfolio—GIF style!

If any of you have a blog or tumblr or Instagram account where you post your art, comment below! I’d love to check it out. 🙂

Hey, guys! So summer is upon us, and although it’s amazing to not have school for a whole three months, let’s face it: summer can get boring. For a busy bee like me, having nothing to do and very few commitments just isn’t my thing. That’s why I’ll be showing you some stuff to do when you’re bored this summer!

Having a day…actually, many days…where you lay out by the pool and relax is always a must. But, of course, you have to have some supes adorable pool toys while doing it, right?

My bestie, Sam, and I couldn’t get enough of this donut floatie. It looked seriously good enough to eat, haha!

And here is Sam, happy as can be, on a giant floating pretzel. I think we can all agree that anything food related is instantly 10 times better.

Nothing beats the feeling of a nice, cold pool on a hot day. Just remember to apply sunscreen—ALWAYS—especially if you think you might doze off while adrift in the pool. Hey, better safe than sorry.

Stay tuned for more ideas of what to do when you’re bored!

Yours truly,

Tattoos & Piercings

Many of Clare’s and my friends have asked us about our experience getting our first tattoo. Although Clare and I both follow many beauty gurus on Youtube, and have found a ton of videos that explain a tattoo’s meaning or how painful a piercing is, none (that we have watched or found) give a first-timer’s point of view. So Clare and I made a video for you (and our friends) explaining the process and pain level—and we threw in some helpful tips, too.

Disclaimer: We are not claiming we are experts, these are just our opinions from our personal experiences.

Happy Earth Day!

As April is Earth Month and today happens to be Earth Day, today’s post is all about appreciating nature and finding ways to help our planet.

Be One with Nature
In today’s technology-filled world, some of us (myself included) find ourselves retweeting gorgeous sunsets or liking landscape photos instead of actually going outside and seeing these things for ourselves. So… first things first, lets interact with the Earth! Soak up the sun, dance with the flowers, gaze up at the moon.

Go outside! Explore! Adventure!

Appreciate all that Mother Nature has to offer. 🙂

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
C’mon, guys, we all know the three R’s from kindergarten, possibly even preschool. Nothing has changed, they are still key factors to follow.

Reduce: Spring cleanout anyone? Go the minimalistic way and reduce the amount of unnecessary stuff you have. You and the Earth will both be happier in the end.

Reuse: If you’re hopelessly attached to unnecessary items and you just can’t seem to throw them out, reuse them for something else.

Recycle: Get rid of waste the right way. Even though it’s almost too easy to just throw your trash away, just remember that you are helping humans, animals and the environment when you recycle.

One last note: It seems silly to just do these things in April, or just today, and I don’t think that’s what Earth Day is about. Let’s use Earth Day to discover what more we can do for the environment. Let’s treat every day like Earth Day.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to help the Earth. 🙂
