White + Denim: Look 1

Hey, y’all!

Now that summer is finally here, it’s time to bust out all the light colors. I’ve done a post on the all white trend before and I can’t help but feature this summer color again. This time, I want to pair white with my favorite fabric: denim. But more specifically, light denim!

Here I paired an easy-breezy button-down with some Levi’s boyfriend jeans. Oh, and a black felt hat. Just some basic pieces in some basic colors.

I definitely used L.A.’s cool and chic vibe as inspiration for this outfit. I’m loving the minimalistic style that’s seen on all the cool L.A. gals.

I’ve got one more white + denim look for you guys coming soon!

Graduation Outfit 2k15

Graduation

And just like that…high school is officially over! After 12 years of grade school, middle school and high school, it all has come to end. I’m blessed to say that I graduated with honors and will be attending Robert Morris University in the fall to study Marketing.

WAISTup

Now to the outfit breakdown! I did not have a set style in mind when it came to selecting this fit–I just went with an earthtone color scheme and BOOM! This is what I came out with (mind you I purchased this look two hours before the ceremony lol).

I always start my looks with the selection of a blazer. I wanted to do something traditional but also somewhat unique, so I paired the navy blazer with a cranberry-colored pant. I opted for a tan shoe and tan belt, finished off with a navy bow tie to really bring the look full circle. When your blazer and pants are very vibrant, you want to incorporate a subtle dress shirt, which is why I selected a very light shade of maroon for this look.

Moving on to the next chapter of my life is a very exciting thing and I am eager to see what’s in store for me next!

Hello, hello!

It’s my last post on what to wear for graduation and other special summer occasions. I loved playing dress-up for this series! I haven’t done too many formal-attire posts, and it’s quite rare to see me all dressed up. Sorry ’bout it—I just tend to live in jeans!

Hero

For this look I wore yet another dress, but with a pair of espadrille wedges. Have you guys noticed that espadrilles are huge for summer this year?!

Bp-formal-ootd

I adore this dress because of the festive paisley print and gold embellishment.

By now it’s possible that many of you have already graduated and are no longer looking for a graduation outfit. BUT, if that’s not the case, I have another formal look for attending any ceremony, summer party or even a summer wedding!

Hero

I’m not gonna lie, I felt like a total princess in this chiffon dress and these li’l heels.

And, how pretty is this periwinkle color?

OOTD: Transitional Style

Spring weather in Portland is very iffy. It can be sunny for days, then start to rain for days on end. Since the weather isn’t very reliable, it’s a good idea be ready for anything. I paired jeans with a flowy tank top for warm afternoons, then threw on an oversized cardigan in case of damp and chill.

Who needs a boyfriend when you have boyfriend jeans? It makes sense that boyfriend shorts are also a thing for this spring. Bella and Amber already have you covered when it comes to styling boyfriend jeans, so I decided to show y’all how to style some slouchy boyfriend shorts for the warmer days ahead.

Boyfriend shorts can easily be dressed up or down. I kept it casual here with a flowy olive blouse and an oversized knit cardi.

I’ve fallen completely in love with these shorts and just adore the way they fit my body. They have just the right amount of slouchiness and are so comfortable. I mean, you can’t even tell you’re wearing denim. Ah-mazing!

My long, tribal-inspired necklace adds a little something extra to the outfit, while still keeping that laid-back vibe.

Hope y’all enjoyed this look! If you have any OOTDs you’d like to share, just tag them #nordstrombp because I’d love to see ’em. And who knows? They just might end up on the in-store video walls or elsewhere in the BP. universe.

Yours truly,
Caroline

I love to use minimal, versatile pieces as the foundation of my wardrobe. I often find that if I buy a simple dress, I can accessorize it in a variety of ways and it becomes almost unrecognizable with each new twist.

For example, here is a simple navy dress:

JS Boutique Strapless Ruched Chiffon Gown

Look 1: Edgy
For an edgy look, I would wear ear cuffs or ear crawlers. They lend a subtle edge factor without committing to something totally out there, like a crazy statement necklace.

Look 2: Feminine and Flirty
For a feminine, flirtatious look I would accessorize with jewelry that has color in it—maybe even with a floral motif.

Look 3: Boho
For a boho look, I would accessorize with a lot of layers. Texture is your friend when it comes to the ’70s-retro trend.

That ’70s Style: Part 1

They say fashion has a way of repeating itself, and who doesn’t love time traveling? Bellbottoms paired with crop tops, fringe on everything, funky florals, and non-stop gypsy vibes. My best friend Eliza and I went back to the ’70s to express our inner Stevie Nicks,  and shot a two-part lookbook while we were there.
