Travel Diary: New York City

Here are a few more pictures from my epic trip to New York City. Hope you enjoy, lovelies.

Of course I had to make my way to Madison Avenue and stop by Ladurée to experience everything Blair Waldorf stood for in “Gossip Girl.”

Packing Hints & Tips

I wouldn’t say that I’m some type of world traveler who jets of to Europe all the time (what 17 year old really is?), but I definitely have had my fair share of epic vacays. But with vacations comes packing, which used to be such a struggle for me. I would overpack, bring all the wrong things, and overall the experience was kinda just bleh. That’s why today I’m showing you guys some of my top tips for packing–hope it helps you out!

Roll your clothes: This is my number one favorite way to pack and you all need to try it. Rolling your clothes allows for so much more room in your suitcase meaning more outfits to choose from on your trip!

Bring things you’ll actually wear: I have read so many articles about what clothing you should bring on a trip and used to always go by those lists. Then I realized I never ended up wearing half the things I brought, either because I didn’t really like some of the pieces or they just weren’t my style. For example, the lists always suggested to bring jeans but I NEVER wear jeans so they would just take up space. So bring things you know you’ll wear and are true to your personal style!

Some pieces I never travel without: Comfy yogas, a colorful pullover, and chic but functional sneakers.

As you can tell, Olive did not want me leaving for this trip…probably because I slip her tortilla chips when nobodies looking!

Today’s segment of my travel series features a very touristy day at England’s Stonehenge.

Before we headed out, I took a quick overhead shot of my outfit. I know, I know–it’s not very summery to be wearing a flannel, denim jacket and boots, but since the weather here in England is pretty unreliable, I wore lots of layers.

Bp-ootd

Located in Salisbury, Wiltshire, Stonehenge is considered a wonder of the world. The reason for its mystery is that no one knows who placed these massive stones or how they got here at all. What’s also pretty crazy is that the stones are from prehistoric times–they were constructed in 3000 BC!

Travel Diary: Liberty London

As I crossed the Atlantic to the UK, a very popular British department store traveled off to the states, and straight to Nordstrom. All thanks to Olivia Kim (curator of Pop-In@Nordstrom), Liberty London is currently available at select Nordstrom stores and online. In the Flowers Of Liberty collection, you can find everything from adorable tea cozies to the daintiest floral stationary. Read more about Liberty on The Thread.

Liberty London just happens to be one of my favorite stores ever, as I’m sure it is for most Brits. Naturally, I had to visit this iconic department store during my stay in the UK.

This past week my family and I traveled from LA to the UK. Most of my relatives live in England, so my family and I try to go there each summer. It’s been two years since my last visit, so I’m crazy excited for this summer holiday.

Bp-plane

Our first stop was a city in southwest England called Bath. Bath is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. It’s a quaint town known for its Roman history and breathtaking natural beauty. Think ancient buildings, cobblestone streets and lush greenery.

To give ya’ll a better look, here are some photos straight from Bath:

Before heading into NYC, my mom and I made a pit stop in New Jersey to visit some family. It had been about 10 years since I was last there and I forgot how green luscious it was–I was in love! Here are some pics from my short stay:

Road Trip to Seattle

Recently, Will and I took a road trip up to Seattle to visit Clare while she was nannying and then bring her back to Portland with us. We woke up at 5:30 a.m. and were on the road by 7. It’s about a three-hour drive, depending on traffic, so we arrived around 10 a.m. We didn’t leave Seattle until 11 that night because we were just enjoying the city and each other’s company. To be comfy for the road trip but still look cute on our city adventures I went with a babydoll style dress with a bralette for comfort and some suede lace-up booties.

We hadn’t eaten, so our first mission was to find a place for breakfast and in the process we discovered this cute alley.

Will said the Seattle Public Library had really cool architecture, and he wasn’t lying.

Summer is all about vacation for me, and what better place to travel than one of my fave cities: NYC! Welcome to Part 1 of my NYC travel diary…enjoy!

Flying over a beautiful blue lagoon and rocky mountains was such a sight to see! It helped make the six-hour plane ride a little less dreadful!

Whenever I travel, comfort comes first. This graphic tee and striped, flowy shorts are the epitome of pajama chic, ha ha. I also tied this Wildfox jumper around my waist because it can tend to get cold in the airport, then slipped on some leather sneakers to complete the look.

I recently purchased my very own pair of Frends headphones and I am obsessed! The sound quality is amazing, and can we talk about how cute they are?!?! Definitely a travel MUST!

Travel: Sauvie Island

Warmer weather means trips to the beach. Instead of going to an ocean beach (a two-hour drive from Portland), my friends and I head to a nearby beach along the Willamette River called Sauvie Island. Families and teenagers go there to tan, play in the sand and enjoy paddle boarding, boating and jet skiing. This last weekend, my friends and I packed our cars and went for the afternoon to hang out and have fun in the sun.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather like we are.

Fun in the Sun!

Hello, everyone! I’ve been taking beach trips quite frequently lately and snapping a few shots while I’m there (of course!). So sit back, relax and enjoy as I take you on a magical journey to none other than…the beach!
