In honor of Leandra Medine’s new book (called Seeking Love, Finding Overalls), I thought it would be appropriate to feature a few of her most fabulous outfits here on the BP. blog. Leandra Medine is the woman behind the “humorous blog about serious fashion” called Man Repeller. Man Repeller was one of the very first blogs I started following, and I’ve been an avid reader of her posts ever since. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to pick up her new book, which was released in September, but I have been keeping up with Man Repeller and The Thread (which is where I found all these great street style shots).
In this street style photo, Medine layered a plaid under both a boy’s collared shirt and a fab pebbled leather jacket with a shearling lining. As always, Man Repeller is sporting some killer sunglasses. Leave it to her to rock unique eyewear.
Another one of Medine’s well-known style quirks is piling on the gems. In this photo, she wore a simple white tank, but accessorized with yet another pair of ultracool sunglasses and enough bracelets and necklaces to accessorize a small country. Also seen in this photo: style star Rumi Neely (from Fashion Toast) and Natalie Joos (from Tales of Endearment).
In this last photo, taken at Paris Fashion Week last year, Medine showcases the colorblocking trend with her khaki trousers. The nonchalant “coat over the shoulders” is a style trick I’ve been trying to master—with no luck. Of course, Medine just increases her cool-girl appeal by finishing the whole ensemble with none other than (you guessed it) a pair of awesome sunnies.
If you’ve never checked out Medine’s blog, I highly suggest browsing a few of her latest posts! But only if you want to get sucked into the mad and magical world that is the Man Repeller.
