OOTD: Urban Hippie

This past Memorial Day, I spent a day in Portland with my fellow bloggers Clare and Lily. This post focuses on the outfit I wore, but I promise to blog about the experience soon. 🙂

For the occasion, I decided to wear this Free People fortune-teller top. I love the mix of velvet and lace—it’s the perfect combination of boho and romance. I felt so Portland-meets-Cali in this outfit. In other words, I felt really cool. Haha.

For this look, I went light on the makeup—just a little mascara, brow pencil and powder. Okay, confession: Maybe my lack of makeup had to do with the fact that I was running five minutes behind schedule and it wasn’t exactly an actual styling decision. Regardless, it helped achieve the carefree vibe I was looking for.

Since I was hauling my camera, I brought my vintage Dooney & Bourke along for the trip. It’s definitely my favorite carryall bag!

I thought about wearing a super edgy pair of chunky heels, but then I remembered I was going to be walking up and down 23rd street all day, so I decided to go with my good ol’ Steve Madden ‘Plato’  sandals. I basically wear these all the time; they seem to work with everything, so why not?!

Stay tuned for my post about our fun day out on the town, coming soon!

XOXO,
Alyssa
