Bye-Bye from Bella

Sadly, all things come to an end. For me, not only am I saying goodbye to all of you and this amazing experience, but also to my friends and family as I start the next chapter of my life as a college student.

This past year has been wonderful, and I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to meet my fellow bloggers, Amber, James and Caroline, as well as the great people at the Nordstrom Corporate Office, including my amazing editor Amy and the marketing whiz Whitney. I have learned so much, not only about myself but also about the ins and outs of the fashion industry.

I wanted to share with you some of the blooper photos from the past year to show my goofier side.

End-of-Summer OOTD

Just because the season is coming to an end doesn’t mean you have to stop wearing all your favorite summer clothes at once. In fact, I’d say you should wear them as long as you can—soon enough it will be time to start layering for the cold.

Tees | Shorts | Platform sandals

Clare (pictured here) and I are all about sticking to a neutral aesthetic when it comes to a go-to outfit. The weather this day was just warm enough for shorts but not too hot for a comfy tee. Plus, her chunky sandals are both fashionable and comfortable for walking around town.

OOTD: Transition Wear

As the school year slowly approaching us, so is cooler weather. For some of you, this might include more layers; for others, you might have sun all year round. Either way, I hope this look gives you guys some inspiration for the cooler weather that’s to come!

Baseball Hat | TankJeans | Flannel | Vans

In this look, I decided to tie my flannel around my waist since it was pretty warm out, with a lightweight tank and comfy jeans. I wore a baseball hat for both style and sun protection, and added Vans—a nice shoe to walk around in.

Living in Portland, I have the luxury of growing up in a city that was built around a river—hence the name “port” “land”. Portland’s skyline is always changing, but no matter where you are along the river, you will always have bridges in the background.

One of my favorite places for photo shoots is the Eastbank Esplanade on the east side of Portland. It’s along the river on the opposite side of downtown. Will and I decided it would be fun to take some photos there and share a little bit more of Portland with you guys.

OOTD: Little Sister Edition

In a not-so-surprising twist, it turns out my sister has amazing style—just like her older sister! She came with me to run errands recently and I just loved the outfit she chose.

HERO

She wore a loose, lightweight, oversized tee with ripped, light-wash jeans and Timberland-inspired boots and carried a nude bucket bag—so of-the-moment right now. Love.

Here Clare shows you how to transform a simple outfit just by changing the shoes. For starters, Clare is wearing just a basic white and light denim outfit. Her shoes dress her simplistic style down for a more everyday, casual look.

Clare loves herself a good pair of metallic oxfords. In fact, I’m pretty sure she has two or three pairs of them. Just by switching up her shoes to metallic oxfords with a funky pointed toe, this outfit instantly gets a boost of quirkiness.

Contrary to what you might think, metallic shoes are not hard to style. In fact, they’re almost easier to style because you can use them as a statement neutral. Just throw them on and a simple outfit looks put together.

Hot-Weather Leather

I don’t know about you guys, but the weather has been ridiculously hot lately, especially for us Oregonians who are used to rain and temps varying from 50 to 70 degrees in the summer! Lately we’ve had a hot streak of 80- to 100-degree temperatures, but after 39 days with no rain, Portland finally got some summer showers that lowered things down to between 70 and 80.

So after I’d finally gotten used to the hot weather … I got cold and ended up wearing a leather jacket at night.

I have said in previous posts how Sundays are my makeup-free day and that I usually run all my errands for the week on that day. Here is this week’s errand outfit—it was only in the 70s so I went for ripped jeans by BLANKNYC with a simple jersey tank.

HERO

When it came time to accessorize, I chose my go-tos for running errands: black Nike Roshes and my Harvard baseball hat. I have also been loving the backpack trend and it makes running around for errands so much easier than carrying a purse.

I am in love with the color white for summer, so when I found out that Nordstrom has distressed white jeans in their Topshop department, I was all over it.

I tend to lean more towards black over white, so to keep the look in line with my style, I paired the jeans with a muscle tank, a statement necklace and a wrap bracelet.

Huge thanks to Will Nielsen for his amazing photography skills.

Early afternoons are pretty hot, but in the evening as the sun starts to set, it’s the perfect temperature. Jeans and a T-shirt are all I need.

HERO

Ripped jeans can often look too casual, but when paired with a clean-cut white T-shirt, a laid-back outfit can look very put together. Keeping to two colors helps to achieve the coordinated look I was going for.

Shout-out to Will Nielsen for always being my fav camera man.
