First and foremost, this experience will forever be one for the books: from the trip to Seattle to the blogging experience to the monthly meetings. Let’s stroll down memory lane with a look at my three favorite posts.
Meet BP. Blogger James
Of course, my introductory post is one of my faves. Traveling to Seattle and meeting the other bloggers and the friendly people at Nordstrom headquarters was definitely a moment for life. Nothing can compare to it!
So, last night was really a “Moment 4 Life.” Seriously, the Nicki Minaj concert was AMAZING! On top of that, I waited three hours to meet her. (I still can’t even believe it all happened, tbh.)
Unfortunately, it’s almost that time of year. Yes, school (*facepalms*). On the plus side, that means that back-to-school shopping is in full effect! I’ve curated this top-three list of the most styling bags to decrease your dread of going back to the books.
Topman Leaf Print Backpack
I don’t know if you could tell or not, but red is definitely my favorite color! I love the gold finishes and subtle leaf effect that set this bag off.
So the sun finally decided to make it’s way out today, and what better to do then take some pictures?
*The Chukka boot I have on is available right now, on sale in Black get it here!
This is a very relaxed look that anyone can sport! I wore a teal button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to make the look more casual. I then paired it with a chocolate-colored pant and finished off the look with my favorite chukkas. I really liked the earth-tone feel of this look, and I love pairing colors that you might not normally match together.

Enjoy your summer,
Feeling creative? Here’s a fun DIY how-to on creating a short-sleeved, bleached jean button up. This trend has been pretty abundant this summer and now you can make your own!
Step 1: Find a long sleeve jean button up shirt of any sort to get this process started. (Try this one.)
Step 2: Place a plastic bag over the top half of the shirt (or bottom depending on which part you want bleached).
Step 3: Tie the bag extremely tight to protect the top half (or whichever half you are bleaching) from being touched.
Step 4: Submerge the non-bagged portion of the shirt in water with 1 cup of bleach.
Step 5: Obtain a short sleeved shirt that fits you well and use it as a guide to cut the sleeves off of your new shirt using scissors or a razor blade.
Step 6: Use an emery board to fringe the edges of the sleeves on your shirt.
Step 7: Take selfies and look amazing in your new creation!
It’s a week night and you’re up, ready to spend some coins, so you go surfing on Nordstrom.com–but what to buy? I have you covered with my top five summer essentials for men. These items will help you conquer a stylish summer!
The Rail short sleeve poplin woven shirt
On my previous OOTD Post I wore a shirt similar in style and received many compliments on it. I love the patterns that this one from The Rail has available as well.
Herschel Supply Co. Retreat backpack
Now summer is all about travel right?? Travel in style with this Herschel Supply Co. backpack. I love the vintage feel of the bag and it’s the perfect size for leisure.
TOMS Bellini sunglasses
Protect your eyes from the summer sun with these TOMS sunglasses. TOMS eyewear is always very modern yet classic. I am a proud TOMS eyewear connoisseur [thanks, Nordstrom HQ ;)] and I must say that their shades are quite comfortable–they don’t slide off or feel heavy on your face.
TOMS Chukka Boot
Chukka boots are honestly everything! I love how versatile they are in the sense that you can throw on jeans and a t-shirt or a button down and khakis and your outfit still looks well put together both ways. The comfort level is astonishing as well!
Topman Straw Hat
I love how a straw hat can change the whole vibe of your outfit and I particularly love the leather strap around this hat. This is one of my favorite styles of hats because it’s simple yet adds another dimension to your look.
So there you have it, my top 5 summer essentials. Which ones are your favorite?
*Makes cool-guy face* lol
Summer is in full effect and I’m ready to paint the town red (and blue *smirks*) with this leafy Hawaiian shirt and electric-blue shoe ensemble.
I went with long khaki shorts to balance out the risky fit. When you are incorporating so much with your shirt and your shoes, you want to do a more refined bottom so everything doesn’t clash. The shirt has small accents of blue, which is why I paired it with the electric-blue sneakers–an edgy but understated look.
Don’t forget to smile and enjoy the summer weather!
And just like that…high school is officially over! After 12 years of grade school, middle school and high school, it all has come to end. I’m blessed to say that I graduated with honors and will be attending Robert Morris University in the fall to study Marketing.
Now to the outfit breakdown! I did not have a set style in mind when it came to selecting this fit–I just went with an earthtone color scheme and BOOM! This is what I came out with (mind you I purchased this look two hours before the ceremony lol).

I always start my looks with the selection of a blazer. I wanted to do something traditional but also somewhat unique, so I paired the navy blazer with a cranberry-colored pant. I opted for a tan shoe and tan belt, finished off with a navy bow tie to really bring the look full circle. When your blazer and pants are very vibrant, you want to incorporate a subtle dress shirt, which is why I selected a very light shade of maroon for this look.
Moving on to the next chapter of my life is a very exciting thing and I am eager to see what’s in store for me next!
*cues “The Night Is Still Young” by Nicki Minaj*
Well, after all the preparation for my senior prom, I can actually say that I enjoyed myself. It took some time to curate the perfect look and have my date match it, but everything came together in the end.
“Korean Royalty” was the inspiration behind my look for prom. (I have always been inspired by the creativity of Korean culture and how fashion-forward their style is.) My date opted for a bright red dress with a chic neckline and finished with all-gold accessories to really embody the royal image I was aiming for.
Black, gold and red were my signature colors. They are so vibrant and made me feel like a king! My blazer featured a gold foil design over black velour fabric. The blazer originally came with a black velour lapel, but due to my indecisiveness I changed it to black satin THREE days before prom (compliments of my wonderful grandmother!). It was a risk bringing these different prints together and trying to match colors, but what is life without challenges, right?
Prom was truly a night to remember (the event itself, as well as my outfit… lol)! I’m so thankful for everyone who helped bring my fashion vision to life. Below are a few fun iPhone images:
What a great way to celebrate the end of my time in high school. I hope your prom was stylish and fun, too!
Prom is right around the corner. You’ve got your dress, but how are you going to do your makeup? My best friend, Kenya, is a great makeup artist, and she volunteered to show you how to do a glam gold eye that’s perfect for prom.
Step 1: Prime eyelid with Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer
Step 2: Apply a dark brown shadow (Urban Decay’s “Darkhorse“ is a great choice) on the outer corner of the eyelid and in the crease of the lid, blend thoroughly.
Step 3: Place gold glitter (Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow “Beige“ ) is a great choice to complete this look.) on the inner part of the eye and the center.
Step 4: Apply mascara to your own eyelashes, or apply false lashes for volume.
Step 5: Look GOLDEN!
Even if you’re not attending prom, this look is perfect for any future event that requires a touch of subtle glamor. Hope you like it!
