Street Style & OOTD

L.A. Street Style

The moment has come. After months of trying, I finally captured the perfect street-style shots. Although they’re not New York Fashion Week caliber, the street style in Los Angeles was more fabulous than I had anticipated. While vacationing in beautiful SoCal, I attended a fashion show featuring up-and-coming and student designers. Prior to and directly following the show, I sought out these wonderfully dressed divas and snapped some shots of their perfect outfits!

Metallic gold kimono? Check. Fabulous burgundy floppy hat? Check. Friendly personality and dazzling smile? Check and check.

I was so drawn to this girl’s over-the-top fur coat. She totally looks like M.I.A.—anyone else see it?

This dynamic duo was totally killin’ it post-fashion show.

Clad in mostly black, this pair added jolts of color with rich jewel tones like emerald and plum.

I fell in love with her simple outfit, but what really drew me in was her dainty body chain and necklace layering.

She totally captures the laid-back ’90s vibe. Never before have I seen anyone rock mom jeans as confidently as she did!

Last but certainly not least, these adorable co-workers from Kate Spade on Saturday. Both are rocking the colored denim trend and were the friendliest faces in West Hollywood, I’m pretty sure. 😉

Can we have a round of applause for completing my first successful street-style post? 🙂

It seems like I am just now getting out of the late winter energy droop that has plagued me and my peers since, well, winter break. Just as winter is slowly disappearing from our lives, sweats and baggy jeans are disappearing from our wardrobes. The exciting thought of spring seems to have everyone putting more effort into their daily looks. Seriously, my hallways have looked like a spring catalog lately.

Check out these hallway looks and get some inspiration for a stylish and comfortable school day:

My friends Joel and Christina know exactly how to put together a school look. I love Christina’s knee socks and striped shirt and Joel’s oxfords. These are perfect when you feel like channeling a classic prep-school scholar.

If you wake up one Tuesday, eat a croissant and look at some pictures of Paris Fashion Week before class, you may feel inspired to try Gaby’s Madeline-esque style. I love the pop of red her sneakers add to her French, black-and-white look.

So you wake up late and have minutes to get ready: no worries! Rachel’s ’90s-inspired look can be put together in a flash. Add colorful socks, an oversized sweater and a messy bun to your statement dress and you’ll be out the door in no time. 🙂

Try out these looks next school week and get excited for spring. I’d love to hear about the trends in your hallways!

Stay golden,

Once again, I have been sucked into the street-style vortex. Ever since New York Fashion Week started, I’ve spent every waking moment refreshing The Thread to see if any new street style shots have been posted. Luckily for me, The Thread is updated multiple times a day with more and more fabulous NYFW photos each time. It was so hard for me to narrow down my favorite pictures, but I picked the best of the best to showcase here on the BP. blog!

Make sure to keep up with The Thread daily to see all the latest in Fashion Weeks around the globe!

Style Watch: Portland

Whenever I get the chance to get behind the camera, I like to photograph my fab friends in their equally fabulous clothes. I think this desire to take photos of other people comes from my immense love for street style blogs and photographers. Last weekend I found a cool graffiti wall and headed there with my friends Bella and Gabby to take a few shots of their outfits.

Bella looks so Bling Ring in this photo. She layered her oversized knit on top of a collared denim shirt from her mom’s closet. To add some interest to the look, she paired graphic tights with her staple black booties. And of course the outfit wouldn’t be complete without some, “Paparazzi, no photos please,” sunglasses.

Gabby sported a classic prep ensemble. She paired her fun, printed skirt with a timeless white button-down. She wasn’t afraid to pile on the sparkle by adding a jeweled necklace under the collar of her shirt. Pro tip: Oxfords are a must when aiming to give off preppy vibes.

What was my fashion-forward weekend outfit? Cozy pajama pants and a band tee, of course. 🙂
