One of the things, actually the only thing, that helps me get excited for going back to school is picking out outfits to work while strutting down the halls.
I know that picking out what to wear in the morning can be a bit stressful and sometimes downright impossible. Hopefully I can inspire y’all with these back-to-school outfit ideas!
Here Clare shows you how to transform a simple outfit just by changing the shoes. For starters, Clare is wearing just a basic white and light denim outfit. Her shoes dress her simplistic style down for a more everyday, casual look.

Clare loves herself a good pair of metallic oxfords. In fact, I’m pretty sure she has two or three pairs of them. Just by switching up her shoes to metallic oxfords with a funky pointed toe, this outfit instantly gets a boost of quirkiness.
Contrary to what you might think, metallic shoes are not hard to style. In fact, they’re almost easier to style because you can use them as a statement neutral. Just throw them on and a simple outfit looks put together.
I am in love with the color white for summer, so when I found out that Nordstrom has distressed white jeans in their Topshop department, I was all over it.
I tend to lean more towards black over white, so to keep the look in line with my style, I paired the jeans with a muscle tank, a statement necklace and a wrap bracelet.
Huge thanks to Will Nielsen for his amazing photography skills.
Early afternoons are pretty hot, but in the evening as the sun starts to set, it’s the perfect temperature. Jeans and a T-shirt are all I need.
Ripped jeans can often look too casual, but when paired with a clean-cut white T-shirt, a laid-back outfit can look very put together. Keeping to two colors helps to achieve the coordinated look I was going for.
Shout-out to Will Nielsen for always being my fav camera man.
This week has been full of graduation festivities, which includes Senior Awards Ceremony, Baccalaureate Mass and, finally, graduation. As my education at a Catholic school comes to a close, it is a tradition in the church to celebrate the graduating class with a Baccalaureate mass. For those of you who are not Catholic, a Baccalaureate mass is a celebration of the graduating class, praying for them as they take on the next journey of their lives, and usually involves not only the priest, but the bishop of the area.
Since the Senior Awards Ceremony and Baccalaureate Mass were on the same day, I just wore the same outfit to both because one was in the morning and the other was in the evening.
I wanted to show you guys what I wore, since a lot of my friends that don’t go to Catholic school ask me how they should dress for a mass.
Mules | Floral Dresses | Moto Jackets
I stayed true to my style and kept my look edgy by accessorizing a formal dress with a black leather moto jacket, black heeled mules and silver hoop earrings.
Hey, hey, hey! For my second White + Denim look, I kept things super casual.

I think this outfit screams summer, especially because of the light denim cutoffs and high-tops. It’s the perfect look to wear from any sunny day into a late summer night.

Now that summer is finally here, it’s time to bust out all the light colors. I’ve done a post on the all white trend before and I can’t help but feature this summer color again. This time, I want to pair white with my favorite fabric: denim. But more specifically, light denim!
Here I paired an easy-breezy button-down with some Levi’s boyfriend jeans. Oh, and a black felt hat. Just some basic pieces in some basic colors.

I definitely used L.A.’s cool and chic vibe as inspiration for this outfit. I’m loving the minimalistic style that’s seen on all the cool L.A. gals.
I’ve got one more white + denim look for you guys coming soon!

And just like that…high school is officially over! After 12 years of grade school, middle school and high school, it all has come to end. I’m blessed to say that I graduated with honors and will be attending Robert Morris University in the fall to study Marketing.
Now to the outfit breakdown! I did not have a set style in mind when it came to selecting this fit–I just went with an earthtone color scheme and BOOM! This is what I came out with (mind you I purchased this look two hours before the ceremony lol).

I always start my looks with the selection of a blazer. I wanted to do something traditional but also somewhat unique, so I paired the navy blazer with a cranberry-colored pant. I opted for a tan shoe and tan belt, finished off with a navy bow tie to really bring the look full circle. When your blazer and pants are very vibrant, you want to incorporate a subtle dress shirt, which is why I selected a very light shade of maroon for this look.
Moving on to the next chapter of my life is a very exciting thing and I am eager to see what’s in store for me next!
It’s my last post on what to wear for graduation and other special summer occasions. I loved playing dress-up for this series! I haven’t done too many formal-attire posts, and it’s quite rare to see me all dressed up. Sorry ’bout it—I just tend to live in jeans!
For this look I wore yet another dress, but with a pair of espadrille wedges. Have you guys noticed that espadrilles are huge for summer this year?!
I adore this dress because of the festive paisley print and gold embellishment.
