A Rebecca Minkoff Bag for Every New York City Neighborhood

If there’s one thing Rebecca Minkoff knows, it’s handbags. If there’s another, it’s New York City.

The Brooklyn-based designer shows her ready-to-wear and accessories collection today outside, in front of her SoHo boutique; the audience will be half industry, half whoever is lucky enough to get there and snag a seat. To make the most of her love of fashion and Gotham City, we asked her to pick a current-season Rebecca Minkoff bag to go with each of her favorite neighborhoods.

Nolita/Little Italy

“If you love tacos as much as I do, you must hit up Tacombi on Elizabeth Street. There are a bunch of great bars and restaurants in Nolita; it’s the perfect area for a night out. Crossbodies are super functional for going out,
and the Sofia [above] is definitely a statement piece.”

Dumbo

“Home sweet home! My family and I live here. Everything is walking distance. And my favorite part about living here is being able to look out at the Brooklyn Bridge; it’s gorgeous. The unlined saddle bag [below] fits more than you think and is a perfect bag to carry around on the weekend with the kids.”

Williamsburg

“Williamsburg has some of the best flea markets; I’ve found some of the best vintage pieces and so much inspiration. They also have some amazing boutiques—one of my favorites is a jewelry store called Catbird. The Jane crossbody [below] is great while shopping because it doesn’t get in the way and everything is easily accessible.”

“What’s not to love?! Cobblestone streets, incredible shopping, delicious restaurants and home to our very own NY flagship store on Greene Street. The Clark hobo [below] is the perfect bag to carry while spending the day shopping. With an adjustable strap, this bag is so versatile. It can be a crossbody, a shoulder bag or a tote.”
