Get the Look: New York Fashion Week Street Style at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren
Gimlet-eyed Kristin Yamada is busy snapping street-style starlets during Fashion Week. Here are her photos to inspire you for next season (or this one), and some wardrobe picks to help you get the look.
Gala Gonzalez (Amulu.com) always looks so incredibly effortless and cool. Today she makes the perfect example of how an easy look composed of casual separates and a cozy coat can be expertly elevated with a great bag and smart footwear. Suede has been a popular theme for handbags, and this rich brown bucket with fringe detailing is particularly covetable. Backless loafers too are a rising trend; the dark black looks sophisticated and sleek paired with her more muted ensemble. Throw on your favorite pair of dark-lens sunnies and you’re Fashion Week street ready!
Stylist and editor Shiona Turini was feeling the blues today, from head to toe. This mostly monochrome look showcases her fantastic tonal-stripe coat and fun bag, which dress up a super comfy sweatshirt and jeans. My favorite piece, though, is those powder-blue patent booties. High-gloss leathers are trending and I’m totally on board. Thanks, Shiona!
Hoodies are definitely a thing this season. This all-black-everything look from blogger and style darling Chiara Ferragni is sport goth and sexy at the same time. To balance her extremely casual top, she has gone all leather on bottom. Thigh-high boots pair with an exotic mini to show just the right amount of skin. Patent leather footwear is hot, hot, hot!
Zanita Whittington is rocking a lovely little masculine-feminine mashup today, in an understated way. Her romantic blouse with ruffled collar is wonderful paired with her menswear-inspired check coat. Lingerie dressing is another big theme of the moment, and Zanita’s deep-V neckline lets just a little black lace peek out. A clean jean, booties and great box bag complete the look.
