How Emerging Designers Win at Summer
Remember those “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” essays we had to write back in the day? We prompted eleven emerging and advanced designers from SPACE to get a jump on theirs.
From Marques’Almeida—who took their entire team to Greece for an all-office off-site to end all off-sites—to Amanda Phelan, whose rooftop garden looks like a Brooklyn Zen Club Med, we had some of our favorite brands tell us about their version of fun and sun.

CHRISTELLE KOCHER, KOCHÉ
Summer uniform: Koché jersey dress or big, long white vintage men’s shirt in cotton piqué with big, baggy Koché shorts in jersey. Or, swimsuit and thongs.
Summer menu: Juicy tomatoes with good olive oil (you can’t beat that) and a glass of natural red wine from Corsica or a daiquiri, the Cuban way—so fresh.
Summer anthem: I had a really good summer the year “I’m On One” by DJ Khaled came out and it was playing everywhere. So probably that because when I listen to it, I remember that summer.
