In the Studio: Pedro Garcia Spring 2014
During Paris Fashion Week, The Thread stopped by the Pedro Garcia showroom, where we found our buying team hand-selecting the most essential shoes for spring.
The Art of Buying: When you’re in the business of buying shoes, you must be 10 steps ahead of the trends while also possessing an astute awareness of the styles, shapes and colors women will desire and want to wear. Our buyers get to the sole of the matter with the Pedro Garcia team.
To Have & to Hold: This snappy vachetta-leather ‘Xola’ cuff sandal with metallic suede block heel is a spring must-have.
“Spring 2014 heralds a renaissance of casual-chic footwear, the return of comfort fashion,” says John Langston, our National Designer Shoe Buyer (pictured below right). “Pedro Garcia, a third-generation Spanish design house, continues the tradition of footwear craftsmanship…this family-run brand has been making shoes since 1928.”
Dream Team: This trio is responsible for curating the Nordstrom shoe offering. Pictured left to right: Anne Egan, National Merchandise Manager; Scott Meden, EVP General Merchandise Manager; and John Langston.
What makes this spring offering a sartorial win? “This collection is anchored in everything that you’ve come to expect from Pedro Garcia—signature cork footbed, rich castoro suede leathers, as well as an infusion of newness with the use of perforated suede leathers and color-blocking combinations on new heel heights,” adds John, who is captivated by the bicolor hues on the ‘Xola’ and ‘Sheryl’ styles in combinations of almond/white and white/black.
Life is an adventure—step up the journey in Pedro Garcia.
