London Fashion Week: February 21
Highlights and commentary from yesterday’s J.W. Anderson show from London Fashion Week—a nostalgic nod to early ’80s New Wave.
J.W. Anderson proved he’s one step ahead (or even a decade ahead) of the pack with a collection that paid homage to the ’80s New Wave movement. Powerful asymmetric draped shapes and the use of retro fabrics and color combinations (red, yellow, teal, olive, brown) transformed the jersey dresses and separates. The looks were finished with voluminous leather coats, statement belts in geometric abstract patterns, mismatched earrings and perfectly slouched knee boots for an urban, cool-girl look.
