On the 2018 Tony Awards Red Carpet

Streaming (and bingeing) may now be our preferred mode of entertainment consumption, but the continued allure and relevance of the theatre was undeniable during the 72nd Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Comedians, rockers, TV actors, a former member of Parliament and movie stars assumed roles this year in some of Broadway’s most celebrated productions.

Bruce Springsteen netted an award for his sold-out one-man show Springsteen on Broadway, a melding of his memoir and song oeuvre. Tina Fey’s screen-to-stage adaptation of Mean Girls received 12 nominations. The 82-year-old actress and erstwhile British MP Glenda Jackson grandly walked away with the night’s award for Best Leading Actress in a Play (Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women)—this was her fifth Tony nomination and first winHer cast member, the formidable television and movie actress Laurie Metcalf, took the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Angels in America’s Nathan Lane and Andrew Garfield won awards for Best Featured Actor and Best Leading Actor in a Play, respectively. And the cast of Spongebob Squarepants brought down the house with “I’m Not a Loser,” performed by actor Gavin Lee and written by the titans of American alt rock, They Might Be Giants.

Riccardo Tisci, Jeffrey Kalinsky and All of New York Toast This Year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Winner

What history will remember of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Class of 2015 is they were the ones who broke the rule—the rule that there can only be one winner.

The stars of this year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award ceremony

On Monday, November 2 at Spring Studios in New York, Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg announced, on behalf of a panel of judges that included Nordstrom fashion director Jeffrey Kalinsky, that due to the extreme nature of “authentic” talent in the mix, there would be not one but three winners in this 12th annual fashion competition.

We were there to catch exclusive commentary from past winner and footwear genius Paul Andrew and others, and to pass on the inspiring message from Givenchy‘s creative director Riccardo Tisci—the evening’s keynote guest.

Hunter: It’s What to Wear to Next Year’s Music Festivals

If you polled every Sasquatch and Stagecoach-goer along with all the European kids at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds about their music festival must-have style pieces, we’re reasonably certain Hunter would come up awfully darn often. Or, maybe, always.

Smart, then, of Hunter creative director Alasdhair Willis to create their spring ’16 collection around the muddy fields of the outdoor music scene. Here’s more on the ripstop-tent runway and the tools the brand says you need to “survive the sun-soaked main stage” and the “after-hours downpour where adventure begins”. Oh, and the new brand style: Hunter’s Original Clog.

Party Report: Jeffrey Fashion Cares at Art Beam in New York

Fashion loves a good cause—and a good runway show! Industry insiders flocked to Art Beam in Chelsea on April 6 to put up some coins for a good cause: this year’s Jeffrey Fashion Cares bash.

On behalf of Jeffrey Kalinsky, Nordstrom’s EVP of Designer, Zachary Quinto hosted a raucous live auction and men’s fashion show following a cocktail reception/silent auction. The auctions featured some pretty hot ticket items, including invitations to Elton John’s Oscar viewing party and a Paris Fashion Week package that includes front row tickets Dries Van Noten and Lanvin’s shows.

The runway show sampled from thirteen of the best in the business: Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, Raf, Baja East, Bobby Abley, Christopher Kane, Valentino, Loewe, Haider Ackermann, Ashish, Christopher Shannon, Saint Laurent, and Givenchy all lent menswear threads to the catwalk to help raise funds.

Who was there? Everyone was there—including Prabal Gurung, Narciso Rodriguez, Joseph Altuzarra, Carole Radziwill and Anna Wintour. Now in its twelfth year, the Jeffrey Fashion Cares team has raised over $5 million dollars for non-profits and charity organizations benefitting the LGBT community.

Nicky Hilton Gives Us Her 5 Must Haves

What is it like growing up in the fashion industry? Ask Nicky Hilton. A lifetime of Fashion Week front rows, strutting the catwalk and red carpets and eventually designing her own collections made Hilton a connoisseur of clothing. Having never employed a stylist, Hilton climbed her way up the best-dressed lists all on her own, trusting her own sartorial moxie to get her there. Now Hilton passes her secrets along in the form of a new book called 365 Style, which details her special formula for developing a signature style.

Hilton visited our Bellevue Square store on November 14 to give fans the inside scoop on her new book and answer a few of our burning questions. Here she gives us a crash course in personal style, including her five must-have items of the moment.

Sarah Jessica Parker on the Met Gala

Tonight one of fashion’s biggest events takes place: the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala—or as many simply refer to it, the Met Gala. We grabbed a moment with Sarah Jessica to get her thoughts on this year’s event, plus she shared some snaps of four special-edition versions of the classically chic ‘Fawn’ Pump, each decked out in high-sheen satin with the signature grosgrain strip updated in black*—perfect for a formal affair.

Jason Wu’s Power Girls

Jason Wu gave a nod to the ’90s on Friday with a spring collection full of slinky slipdresses, textured sweatshirts and boxy, tailored suiting. In keeping with his fascination with femininity—especially its darker side—Wu played with the idea of the corset, placing laces here and there, but for the most part, looks were unstructured and slightly slouchy, in a curve-flattering way. The show opened with supermodel Karen Elson wearing a halter-neck gown covered in sparkles, hair parted severely down the middle. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys and Mad Men’s Jessica Paré held court in the front row, sporting fitted black dresses with lacy necklines.
