The Season’s Newest Hotspot

There’s nothing that heats up a chilly weekend like checking out the hottest new venue in your social scene. You’ll need a look that lets everyone know the fun hasn’t really started until you’ve arrived.

For a night on the town, we’re loving the mod, feminine vibe of the popular-again shift dress. With color blocking, a mini length and short sleeves, this Donna Morgan knit channels YSL’s iconic “Mondrian” day dress. While you could definitely amp up the ’60s feel with a peacoat and knee-high boot (think Christina Ricci’s off-duty wardrobe in Pan Am), try taking a shift dress into modern times with updated styling choices.

Sky-high booties (look at that heel!) ground this look in the 21st century, while a trend-right, chubby faux-fur coat rounds out the boxy silhouette of the dress. Opaque tights complete a neutral palette that lets sculptural, statement-making accessories do the talking.
