Nico Peyrache is the creative director of FRAME, a très cool denim brand that has spun out to design some stunningly chic shirts, blouses, dresses and sweaters. Basically, if you need to look put together in a moment’s notice, FRAME’s unfussy pieces will get you there. Which was kind of the point behind the label, Peyrache explains, during this brief video interview with the charming Frenchman.
Swedish-born Erik Torstensson and Jens Grede started Frame Denim with the notion that what the world needed was a sort of boutique denim brand. A small, knowable label producing American-made jeans and pairings with big ideas and an even greater sense of style. And the world responded. Frame’s quick-rising star made it one of the most covetable lines in its category, and Torstensson and Grede’s spring direction makes for a mighty covetable collection.

I cannot handle how cute Roberta looks in these retro overalls. These slim denim flares are perfect for the ’70s revival trend and work well with tall wooden platforms. Nautical stripes and leopard are always excellent mixed-print partners. The structured bag and sleek hat are modern and cool additions to this retro look.
Nini’s amazing coat caught my eye immediately. The fact that she’s wearing it over a pair of modern painter overalls is icing on the cake. I love overalls, and I want to see this modern white pair in my closet, like, yesterday! Leopard booties and a cute clutch dress up the utilitarian chic look.
Frame Denim and Nordstrom joined up to make a big splash back in January, when leggy women everywhere scissored into the Pop-In for the Karlie Kloss-designed capsule collection as well as an expanded selection of Frame goods that included white denim overalls and rad shirts and jackets. Suffice it to say the whole denim-on-denim look went next-level.
The Los Angeles-based, Los Angeles-made line continues to chicly assert itself as a go-to for the kind of girl who fancies a pointy flat and a simple black t-shirt with her slim-fits. The kind of girl, that is, who fancies Hanneli Mustaparta as the ultimate style icon.

“I am a huge Frame fan, and this skinny is like the ultimate fit! Love the ’70s high-rise/’90s washed grunge feel.”
Overalls continue to dominate the street-style scene. Modern, sleek versions, like Elle’s slim black coveralls, are the top pick. By pairing this updated utilitarian classic with a crisp white button-down and stiletto sandals, Elle looks thoroughly contemporary. A chic topknot and bright lip up the style ante even higher!

You might not realize it, but even supermodels have a tough time finding clothing that fits. Take Karlie Kloss. At just over six feet tall, the long-limbed former ballerina often encountered denim hemlines that came up short—literally. So when she got the opportunity to collaborate with Frame Denim on a capsule collection, she decided to create styles perfect for all the tall gals out there.
We grabbed a few minutes with Karlie to talk about her current collection, available for a limited time in our latest Pop-In Shop: New Beginnings.
