The brand: Fendi

The history: Adele and Edoardo Fendi founded a leather and fur company in Rome in 1925. By 1946, their daughters, Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda, joined the family business, and today Anna’s daughter Silvia Venturini Fendi oversees accessories and menswear. She originated the house’s iconic Baguette bag (a plot point in several episodes of Sex and the City).

The brand: Tommy Hilfiger

The history: One of the few brands to offer both fine tailoring and urban streetwear, Tommy Hilfiger made sharp suits in the ’90s while also creating oversize rugby shirts and overalls beloved by the hip-hop community. By recruiting celebrities such as models before it was a trend, Hilfiger made headlines on a near-weekly basis, thanks to his relationships with Aaliyah, Britney Spears, TLC and Elijah Wood.

10 Things That Happened at London Fashion Week

One thing was clear from London Fashion Week Spring 2017: fashion isn’t Brexiting anytime soon. Strong collections from established and emerging designers attest to the long line of talent that shows in the UK. Storied houses like Burberry implemented new practices like gender-blurring designs and see-now, shop-now strategies. Breakout designers like Molly Goddard and Marques’Almeida continued to find new ways to deconstruct and reenvision styles for the runway. Then there were the front rows full of celebrities and the great street style that just gets better during Fashion Week.

Here are some of our favorite moments and the most memorable trends from LFW Spring 2017.

1. Charlotte Olympia’s dance show

Known for her cheeky accessories, Charlotte Olympia put on a sexy show to celebrate her spring collection, inspired by the Copacabana Club. Fruity props and Carmen Miranda tunes filled the Sheraton Grand Park Lane Hotel’s Art Deco ballroom in London. The ’40s-themed dinner club setting perfectly set the stage for Olympia’s kitschy new platforms and stilettos, sure to put a spring in the step of wearers and a smile on admirers’ faces.

Stuart Weitzman Talks About His Sexy New Shoes and Campaign

King of kicks Stuart Weitzman has a legion of models and Hollywood starlets devoted to his designs. So sourcing the top models and fashion icons Joan Smalls, Lily Aldridge and Gigi Hadid to show off his spring collection in a series of sultry fashion ads was par for the leggy course.

Lily Alderidge, Gigi Hadid and Joan SmallsHis latest designs include delicate ankle-wrap gladiators, over-the-knee boots, heavier retro platform sandals and a black patent rendition of his staple Nudist shoe. On the gorgeous trio naturally they look glam. On you, guaranteed, they will too.
