Orange Is the New Black actress Taylor Schilling at the 2015 Tony Awards

Nordstrom Fashion Office Women’s Accessories Director Shannon Schafer shares her favorite trends from the red carpet at the 2015 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

TREND #1: STATEMENT EARRINGS

Tonys-2015-Accessories-Trends-Nordstrom

“The statement earring was the jewelry of choice at the 2015 Tony Awards. Long silver drops–as seen here on Anna Chlumsky and Bella Hadid — were far and away the freshest take on the earring trend.”

Street Style: Nausheen Shah at Dries Van Noten

Nausheen Shah, there is a lot going on in your look today, but I like it! Her dress not only has an insanely beautiful print, but also a modern feminine cut that suits Nausheen perfectly. The clashing clutch and heels actually marry well together and add even more visual interest to the outfit.

On Monday, January 19, Nordstrom’s Tacey Powers featured on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice alongside the late Joan Rivers, Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump. Tacey is our VP Divisional Merchandising Manager of shoes and was a guest judge on the episode.

Below, see behind the scenes of the episode and read a Q&A with Ivanka Trump–that’s fashion entrepreneur Ivanka Trump, who happens to have an exclusive-to-Nordstrom shoe –about what Tacey brought to the episode, favorite wintertime travel destinations, and more.

Street Report: Très Cool Outside Acne Studios

These two look très cool and perfectly minimal. They’re hitting so many trends right on the money: sweatshirts, baby blue, tall boots, loose shorts. I am dying for cooler temperatures so I can break out all my turtleneck sweaters and oversized sweatshirts. The luminous Parisian sun, along with tortoise sunnies and chic bags, is the perfect complement.

Street Report: Jane Outside Erdem

As the fashion news director at Glamour, Jane Keltner de Valle is responsible for steering trend and news coverage for the magazine. I’d say they are in good hands! Jane has classic taste and stays true to her personal style.

I like how Jane adapts trends to suit her level of refinement. Today’s look is a beautiful blend of texture and trend. Lace and mohair are the ultimate in feminine texture, but Jane makes them look interesting and fresh.

Street Report: Ella at Marios Schwab

I am always on the lookout for Ella Catliff (La Petite Anglaise) here in London. She has an understated, vintage-inspired aesthetic and is such a sweetheart.

This autumnal palette is perfectly coordinated, and I love her subtle print mixing. Camel coats are another major FW trend, and the fur collar and sleek lines of this piece are très chic. Here’s hoping I run into Ella again tomorrow!

HQ Street Style: Autumne

Meet Autumne, one of our assistant beauty buyers. Her classic black-and-white outfit with color-pop shoes creates a nouveau-nautical look that seems very now, and her flawless makeup (of course) is just the icing on this cupcake—not to mention those colorful nails.

Autumne says bright-colored lips are her go-to beauty look in the summer—especially when she wants to minimize everything else that she puts on her face, but still wear makeup. “I’m truly obsessed with makeup and have at least four different lip colors available in my handbag at any given time,” she says. And she wasn’t lying. We checked.

Vintage Catalog: The Jumpsuit, 1970

Breezy jumpsuits are looking fresh and modern—even though they made their sartorial debut more than 40 years ago. Updated prints and cuts are now making this an easy piece for a jump-start to your summer.

Let’s look past the ‘Brady Bunch’ background and ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ eyeshadow, and talk about how we’d put a current spin on that ‘70s glam.

1 – Ditch those block-heel shoes in favor of strappy flat sandals for a casual outfit, or simple wedges for a dressier version.
2 – For a wider-leg jumpsuit, make sure the hem skims the top of your toes—this 1970 look could be a little longer.
3 – Let the jumpsuit take center stage by adding a simple crossbody bag and streamlined jewelry.
4 – Channel your inner Charlie’s Angel confidence, and you’re good to go.

Ivanka Trump Spring Collection

Our Nordstrom Michigan Avenue store played host to a personal appearance from the always elegant and poised Ivanka Trump, who joined us to celebrate the launch of her spring 2012 collection.

We love the ladylike elegance of her collection—so like its namesake. We’re eyeing the pretty pinks and covetable mix of slingback wedges and pumps, but we especially adore how every piece of the Ivanka Trump brand makes ‘effortless chic’ easy for everyday.
