I Love the ’90s | Fashion Week Beauty Trends

Photos by Indigital Images

To the tune of George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90,” Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen closed the Versace show in Milan, statuesque in sparkling gold dresses. The return of the 1990s supermodels spread like wildfire through Instagram.

On the 20th anniversary of her brother’s death, Donatella, standing arm in arm with her muses, paid tribute to the groundbreaking work of the late Gianni Versace. Featuring prints and designs he created, the show was alive with the spirit of Gianni’s most influential decade and reaffirmed the trend we’ve seen throughout the season: the ’90s are back in a major way.

From brown lipliner to sleek blowouts, see how the decade’s glamazon beauty permeated Fashion Month. Plus, shop these products to create your own original super look.

Street Style: Tamara at Julien Macdonald

Tamara (Glam and Glitter) is a regular on The Thread, thanks to her trendy, feminine style. She’s just one of those girls who looks amazing in anything. This biker-chic ensemble fits right in at London Fashion Week. The moto jacket is still everywhere, and graphic jumpers are kitschy cute. Her blue palette works well against the grey skies we’ve been having. Tamara is stylish and a total sweetheart: the best of both worlds!

Street Style: Pandora Sykes at Julien Macdonald

Pandora is one of my favorite Londoners. She has a unique individual style that fits her perfectly. Today’s retro look works so well with the ’60s and ’70s themes we’ve been watching on the runway. Cropped flares with the It boot of the season keep the vintage vibe alive.

Street Style: Caroline Issa at Julien Macdonald

I was thrilled to see Caroline today (and every day!) in pieces from her Nordstrom collection. While Caroline looks stunning in everything, it is exciting to see her representing the collaboration at Fashion Week. I have been coveting this navy blue leather jacket since I first saw the images from the collection. If I could have just a tiny piece of the effortless chic that Caroline exudes, I’d die happy!

Street Report: Abigail Outside Julien Macdonald

That’s right—more white! Everyone at Fashion Week is obsessed with all-white looks and Abigail is no exception. While her black leather accessories and heavy chain give this look an urban edge, the clean palette feels modern and minimal. The crop top is practically a requirement at Fashion Week and I love this long-sleeve version, which pairs perfectly with Abigail’s slim midi skirt.
