Cole Haan Extraordinary Women Interviews Style Video

Karlie Kloss and Christy Turlington Burns Are Extraordinary Women—but We Already Knew That

What good are expensive pumps with a broken heel? We like our style with substance. The same goes for our fashion icons: women who are merely pretty without purpose can’t reach the status of role model, even if they are supermodels. That’s why uber-models Karlie Kloss and Christy Turlington Burns are in a class of their own. Each lady founded an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of women. Christy is the founder of Every Mother Counts, an international nonprofit that helps provide skilled health care for moms-to-be and their infants. As the founder of Kode with Klossy, Karlie offers coding summer camps and scholarships for young women, with the hope of lessening the tech gender gap.

There really couldn’t be two better spokeswomen for Cole Haan’s “Extraordinary Women, Extraordinary Stories” fall campaign, an exploration of the impact of our relationships and actions in the world.

Video: Karlie Kloss on Her Favorite Shoes, College Life and How To Runway Walk

Karlie Kloss at the University of South Carolina

Our spring Snapchat Shoe Challenge saw the University of South Carolina student body rally to win a party on campus with supermodel and NYU college student Karlie Kloss!

Nordstrom asked users to cast a social media ballot for Florida State University, UCLA, University of Arizona, University of Oregon or University of South Carolina. The Gamecocks rose to the challenge and, on April 12, University of South Carolina seniors were presented with a Nordstrom voucher worth $100 to help them get a well-shod leg up on their job hunt.

We took a minute to talk to the mega-model when she visited campus last week. As a working professional and NYU student, Kloss’s schedule is already pretty packed. But somehow she has still found time to help other young women find their calling with her free summer coding camps called Kode with Klossy.

Hear Karlie Kloss talk about her love of shoes, college life and her pet project. Plus, get her tips on mastering a killer runway walk.

Paris Fashion Week S/S 2016: Midwestern Models of the Moment in Chloé’s Grand Palais

Imagine it: you spend your whole life on a sheep farm in West Branch, Iowa, and then one day you meet Jeff and Mary Clarke of Mother Model Management, who scoop you up and take you to Paris. The next thing you know you’re helping Chloé creative director Clare Waight Keller telegraph the dream of an ultra-elegant and super-sporty bohemian.

That’s Hazel Crew’s story, as I heard it from the Clarkes themselves while we sat waiting for one of Paris Fashion Week’s biggest shows to begin. The Clarkes, who’ve made a 20-year career out of finding gorgeous talent in the heartland, were there that morning to see model-on-the-rise Grace Hartzel as well; they discovered her at a Cheesecake Factory.

Find out more about the Clarkes’ Midwestern Chloé muses—and see the colored pleats, girly gym pants and obsession-worthy handbags they wore for the spring collection.

Jason Wu is All About Glamour, the Sartorialist’s Cover Girl is the Ultimate Tomboy, the Top Five Things at Suno, and How We’re Singlehandedly Keeping Backstage Boredom at Bay

Fashion Week Journal for Friday February 13

The first thing you learn about the fashion industry is that “hurry up and wait” is no joke. No one is even pretending to be punctual when it comes to showtimes, and let’s not even talk about models. Those girls. Their job is all about patience. Hair. Pause. Makeup. Pause. Walk-through. Pause. Pause. Pause. Repeat.

And so yesterday, during an epic couple of hours backstage before the Jason Wu show, we invented Blank Book. It’s a lot like Mad Libs, only, well, different. We’ll include one or two of these a day from here on out.

FEED’s Holiday Campaign Reminds Us What’s Really Important

The holidays are about a lot more than wondering what’s in your stocking. This time of year is a much-needed annual reminder to slow down for a second and remember what’s really important. To reconnect with family, friends and loved ones. To count our blessings for what’s going well. And to make sure we’re doing what we can to help those in need.

FEED, a philanthropic brand that’s provided more than 85 million meals globally, can assist with that last part—while checking gifts for said loved ones off your list in the process.

Keep reading to see FEED’s holiday portrait series featuring longtime supporters like Jessica Alba, Karlie Kloss, Chrissy Teigen and our own Pop-In Shop curator Olivia Kim, who came together to show how each FEED purchase can help fight world hunger.

Watch This: Frame Denim Videos with Hanneli Mustaparta

Frame Denim and Nordstrom joined up to make a big splash back in January, when leggy women everywhere scissored into the Pop-In for the Karlie Kloss-designed capsule collection as well as an expanded selection of Frame goods that included white denim overalls and rad shirts and jackets. Suffice it to say the whole denim-on-denim look went next-level.

The Los Angeles-based, Los Angeles-made line continues to chicly assert itself as a go-to for the kind of girl who fancies a pointy flat and a simple black t-shirt with her slim-fits. The kind of girl, that is, who fancies Hanneli Mustaparta as the ultimate style icon.

The model, blogger and street style frequent flier kicks off Frame’s #GIRLSINFRAME video campaign. To see the rest of the series—for barefoot dance party grooves, low-key/high-style outfit tips and general mood-boosting—plug in your earphones and …

New Beginnings Pop-In Shop: Supermodel Karlie Kloss Talks Frame Denim

You might not realize it, but even supermodels have a tough time finding clothing that fits. Take Karlie Kloss. At just over six feet tall, the long-limbed former ballerina often encountered denim hemlines that came up short—literally. So when she got the opportunity to collaborate with Frame Denim on a capsule collection, she decided to create styles perfect for all the tall gals out there.

We grabbed a few minutes with Karlie to talk about her current collection, available for a limited time in our latest Pop-In Shop: New Beginnings.
