Pop-In@Nordstrom Gets Wired: Candid Cameras

When we heard about this month’s Pop-In@Nordstrom, for which Olivia Kim curated a mix of exciting and super-fun tech gear, we had this idea about worlds colliding in the very best way. Wouldn’t it be cool, we thought, if we shared the shop’s Snap Touch Polaroid cameras—which double as printers—with some of our SPACE designers and told them to go out and document their worlds?

Owing to these rad new cameras and our visionary friends, we think the results are very cool indeed.

You Saw Fendi’s Spring Runway, Now See How Those Elaborate Bags Are Made

Grand master of high fashion Karl Lagerfeld presented a collection of what Vogue called “techno rococo confections” for spring ’17. The skillfully executed mashup of eras and tastes included gilded aprons over pants and boudoir-inspired lingerie pieces amid exaggerated sleeves and high-contrast pinstripes. And, of course, decked-out Fendi handbags.

Beautifully offbeat, expertly crafted pieces are something of a signature for Fendi—a well-known fact for anyone who owns a handbag (or three) from the iconic Italian house.

Which is why just days before the Milan Fashion Week runway show, we celebrated the launch of the newest Peekaboo bag—her name is Selleria–at our downtown Seattle flagship store. Fendi lovers sipped on bubbly and perused the boutique as they witnessed the magic of Italian artisan Dimitri Ciandella.

“One of my earliest memories is from the Dominican Republic. My family moved there when I was four and I remember seeing children my age on the street who were completely naked. It was the first time I’d seen anything like that, and it just shocked me. I mean, I can’t even describe to you how I felt.” LET’S CLIMB

MCM x Tobias Rehberger: Art You Can Carry

MCM‘s new school is brassier and studlier, hanging perfectly off the shoulders of The (charmed) Youths, street-style icons and everyone in between. But the highly ‘grammable logo—developed at the height of Munich’s ’70s creative renaissance—hasn’t veered too far off course since the Cognac Visetos pattern became the famed Cognac Visetos pattern.

Until now.

Paris Fashion Week: Christian Louboutin’s Film Noir Heroines

Fashion, runway and pop culture icon Christian Louboutin once again accompanied designer Yazbukey’s theatrical Fashion Week presentation in Paris this week.

Film noir–inspired black widows displayed a precarious balance of seduction and peril—for those who dared to cross their paths—in a plexiglass world where two unapologetically vampy Louboutin styles became something of a siren’s song.
