Tesla Opens a Showroom in Nordstrom The Grove

Angelenos will want to make Nordstrom The Grove a waypoint this weekend. Beginning Saturday, a Tesla Motors gallery featuring the all-electric Model X—Tesla’s sport utility vehicle that performs like a sports car—will be located in the store’s men’s department. Customers are invited to stop by the small showroom to experience interior and trim choices in the Tesla Design Studio, and even go on test drives with Tesla employees.

During Father’s Day weekend, demonstration drives will be happening throughout the day in 10 Model X’s. If Dad wants to go for a spin, don’t fear his whipping out a checkbook on the spot: purchases can’t be made at the gallery at this time—he’ll have to go online, which Tesla staff can facilitate, or head to a licensed Tesla store.

Our bet is that dads won’t be the only shoppers seduced by the Model X. Luxury interiors and high-tech design—including Falcon Wing doors and a panoramic windshield with solar tinting, which seamlessly blends frontal and overhead views—are just a few touches that make this vehicle peerless. Additionally, without gas, the Model X rockets from zero to 60 in a mere 3.2 seconds. A 90 kWh battery provides 257 miles of range on a single charge. It seats seven adults comfortably and has a 5,000-pound towing capacity, all while handling like a zippy two-seater.

Need we go on?

Four of Our Favorite LA Bloggers and Vloggers Talk Style in Looks from The Kooples

Recently, some of the most stylish bloggers and vloggers in the LA area stopped by our Nordstrom The Grove store to get a look at the latest clothing from cool Parisian line The Kooples. We love seeing how people style outfits, and the dominantly black, leather and lace creations from this French fashion house exude attitude. Naturally we couldn’t resist staging a photo shoot while talking to Jenn Im (ClothesEncounters), Paola Alberdi (Blank Itinerary), Claire Marshall (HeyClaire) and Tania Sarin (tsarin.com) about finding style inspiration and what to wear now.

Paola Alberdi of Blank Itinerary at Nordstrom the Grove
Paola Alberdi’s Blank Itinerary is anything but. This style influencer is constantly traveling to some scenic beach or cosmopolitan European city. On her blog and Instagram account, you can follow along to see what she’s packing. Needless to say, she is perfectly prepared for every destination.

Paola Alberdi in The KooplesHow would you describe your personal and blogging style?

This is always a tough one. I would say my personal style is mixing highs and lows, combining basics in every way possible and also playing around with textures and prints every once in a while. I love to try out new trends and adapt them to my style and create my own.

What are your favorite trends this season?

Everything with suede, and wearing different tones of greys.

How do you describe the fashion environment in LA compared to other major cities/fashion capitals?

Ahh, LA is LA, where stars are born! Isn’t that the saying? In this city, we don’t really experience seasons, so I do believe the weather affects our fashion in some sort, but I wouldn’t trade the weather for the world.

How do you prefer to shop (online, department store, boutiques)?

It’s funny to see how over time, I now shop more and more online, yet there is nothing quite like trying things on and walking out with that shopping bag.

Who What Wear’s Hillary Kerr Selects Fall Looks at Nordstrom

Who What Wear's Hillary Kerr and Bobby Schuessler at Nordstrom the Grove

Sometimes you need an expert opinion. Usually that opinion is easier to hear if it’s delivered by a friend, or someone with a friendly air.

Hillary Kerr, cofounder of style site Who What Wear, was just the person to dole out fashion advice at Nordstrom the Grove on September 24. The ebullient hostess held court with an audience of shoppers and fashion bloggers present to hear her fashion picks from several Nordstrom labels.

Who What Wear at Nordstrom the Grove

Kerr and Who What Wear senior fashion editor Bobby Schuessler presented the curated outfits on models walking the runway to their fun commentary.

In attendance were 10 Crosby designer Liz Giardina, because im addicted blogger Geri Hirsch, Grasie Mercedes of Style Me Grasie, Chriselle Lim from the Chriselle Factor, Eat.Sleep.Wear’s Kimberly Pesch, Sazan Barzani, Carly Cristman, Devon Rachel and others. Actress Jessica Alba just happened to drop by. It was that kind of an event.

5 Fixes for a Beauty Hangover

It happens to all of us: you’re having a great time, stay a little later than planned—and indulge in a few extra sips of champagne. Beauty Stylist Marine Sargsyan from Nordstrom The Grove has a few tips and tricks that she says will “fool everyone into thinking you got a full night’s worth of beauty sleep.” Here’s her recipe for curing a beauty hangover.

1. Water, Water and Water: It’s key for a healthy glow, so keep your skin hydrated. Up your water intake throughout the night, before you go to bed and when you wake up. I add a mist to the mix. Mario Badescu has a refreshing, hydrating spray I love. Formulated simply with fragrant herbal extracts, aloe and rosewater, it’s a pleasant pick-me-up for dehydrated, tight and uncomfortable skin. Perfect for the morning after a long, fun night!

2. De-puff and Refresh: Use an eye cream that will help with puffiness and the look of fatigue. I am currently obsessed with Algenist’s eye renewal balm. This eye cream will not only help decrease puffiness, it will also hydrate the eye area. Alguronic acid, vitamin C, caffeine, cucumber, aloe and green tea extracts help to recharge your appearance all day. Bonus: it’s perfect for men and women.

3. Beige Fake-Out: Here’s a great beauty secret for a more wide-eyed look: Use a beige-colored eyeliner in the waterline. Why? This will help your eyes look brighter and more awake. Smashbox has a great eyeliner that really does the trick. Plus, it’s a self-sharpening eyeliner, so you get a precise tip every time.

4. Divert Focus to Where You Want It: Start by curling your top lashes and then load them up with your favorite mascara. The trick is to only apply mascara to your top lashes to draw attention away from any puffiness below. Lancôme Hypnôse Drama is one of my go-to mascaras for volume, length and curl. It’s a triple threat and just the thing for the morning after.

5. Bronzer and Blush: Give your skin the look of a beautiful glow by applying bronzer to the perimeter of the face and blush only on the apples of your cheeks. The NARS blush and bronzer duo is not only compact, but perfect for both early mornings and late nights!
