As a Wedding Stylist, how excited are you about this event (scale of 1 to 11)?
I am SO excited for this—definitely 11! I have been following the coverage through many modes—Twitter, weekly magazines, TV, etc. It’s been fun to see the fashion and the history that goes with it all.

Have you seen a change in your clients’ styling wishes since the world caught Royal Wedding Fever?
We are expecting a big customer reaction from the Royal Wedding starting as soon as Friday. We have not seen a lot of pre-wedding anticipation from our brides, but we definitely expect to see trends from Kate’s look and wedding appear in brides’ plans after the wedding.

Any predictions about Kate’s closely guarded wedding dress?
Kate is a timeless beauty, but she is also a modern woman. People are unsure how this will be interpreted on her wedding day, but I predict lots of lace. And, of course, a fabulous designer. Princess Diana used a virtually unknown designer for her wedding gown, so it will be really exciting to see who Kate chooses.

What about Kate’s bridesmaids? Do you have any insight into what style or color they could wear?
I’m really curious about this part! Princess Diana and Prince Charles had very young bridesmaids—like teenagers and younger—who were related to the Royal Family. Kate will have her sister, Pippa, as her MOH, but I am looking forward to seeing how many other women get to partake in Kate’s big day. I’d like to see Pippa wearing something special, and I think Kate could really work the modern idea of dressing bridesmaids in different looks.

Do you have plans to stay up late to watch the wedding or TiVo it?
I plan on being glued to my TV for 24 hours! I am watching it with a few girlfriends and we plan to make it a day of celebrating—with nighttime snacks, breakfast and lunch—for as long as it takes.

Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
This is an exciting time for brides. Most of our customers can very easily identify with a 29-year-old woman about to get married, but most of us can only fantasize about marrying a prince! It will be fascinating to see aspects from the Royal Wedding trickle down as trends in the industry. I’m excited to help our brides take inspiration from this to create their own dream wedding days!
