West World: Western Styles Have Us Booting Up This Spring

Spring isn’t usually boot season, but this year we’ll make an exception. There’s a new style in town (cue the swinging saloon doors)—or, really, a rebooted classic that’s showing up in the major fashion cities. Lately, you’d be forgiven for mistaking the streets of Paris, New York and London this Fashion Week for Sweetwater’s dusty trails, with all the cool cowgirl footwear that’s roaming them.

We rustled up some of our favorite Western boots based on street-style looks we spotted. Here are the pairs we’d wear while riding off into the sunset.

Western boots at Fashion WeekWe loved seeing these Western kitten-heeled boots on the streets of Paris. The feminine silhouette and nude hue perfectly pair with pastels. The boot style keeps things from getting too sweet, too girly. Here are a few like looks to wear with your soft colors and skirts.

This punky outfit requires a killer boot, preferably in a lipstick shade. Kick up your heels in a rugged red style that features interesting stitching or a snakeskin print for some dimension. We like how these quietly clash with a plaid pant, but are muted enough not to cause confusion.

Your basic black boot looks fresh in a nouveau Western shape. These steel-toe-tipped Calvin Kleins were about as prevalent as a pair of Wranglers at a rodeo during last Fashion Week. For good reason: they go with everything that’s in your closet already, including jeans and shirtdresses.
