What happens behind the scenes on a typical Nordstrom catalog shoot? Well, that’s a subject for another day because our recent Zella shoot was anything but typical. It was inspiring, motivating, captivating, beautiful and about as peaceful and Zen-inducing as a photo shoot can be.

First memory of really loving fitness: Ballet. I was 6.
When exercise became a way of life: Fitness wasn’t a mainstay in my life until I found Pure Barre. I used to say, “I don’t like to sweat!” but now I love it. I just ran my first half marathon too!

Favorite thing to do with remaining hours: Go new places, try new things. I’m a big baker and I love museums. I also write a blog called Live Happy Live Pretty.
Best workout regimen for post-holiday wellness: A mind-body “diet” of yoga classes, meditation and trying new types of workouts.

Best pre-workout fuel: Water. Hydration is key for me to keep going.

Best thing about the Nordstrom catalog shoot: The people, hands down. It was amazing to see how many people it takes to put a shoot together. And everyone was so on point in their roles. I left with a new friend, JQ the yoga director. She kept me grounded. We really bonded, and now we take each other’s classes!
Funniest or weirdest behind-the-scenes moment: The dance party at the very end to get the perfect hair-flip shot.
