Based on where we are right now with our current sweatpants fixation, when GQ makes a web list called The 10 Best Sweats for Working Out or the Weekend, that’s a list we click through.
Lo and behold nestled in GQ‘s list we found two of our own all-weather favorites by Thom Browne and Nike–both perfect for pretty much all levels of social interaction, from casual lounging to looking completely presentable and styled out.
Bulky sweats are what we’re wearing right now, in heavy cottons and wools. But that soon shall change.
With spring upcoming, we’re not just looking for cool designs but also sorting by material when we shop, thinking about how to keep rocking that carrot-ish silhouette and perhaps switch up the fabric to be a little lighter in the near future.

We warned you and now it’s here: Street Report, our collection of slammin’ fall styles in the category of streetwear—or athleisure, if you will.
You know, the clothes we wear now: the jogger pants, the bomber jackets, the sneakers, the Timbs. Styling concepts that revolve around layering. Silhouettes that look not like a V (for you sharp suiters out there), but more like you.

Justifiably well-known for jogger pants, Australian brand ZANEROBE also supplies knits, button-ups, sweatshirts and bags, all swirling between the realms of street and sport. You can dress this stuff up, but basically it’s meant for movement, for choosing one’s own adventure. Like the brand’s North American General Manager, Dan Maynard, does. When he spoke with us, he said he was hyped on “everything, all the time, without sleep.” (FYI: he’s not the model above; he’s this guy in the Top Dawg Entertainment hat.)
Travis Gumbs (left) and Joshua Kissi—two of our favorite photographers, stylists, travel journalists, fashion historians and the masterminds behind globally influential men’s interest blog Street Etiquette—are always up to something.
This time around, it’s a travelogue/lookbook in cahoots with Australian brand Zanerobe (progenitors of some of the best jogger pants in the biz, along with next-level shirts, shorts, jackets and more). The photographic essay, titled On the Road, took them out of their standard stomping ground of New York, and up the West Coast—hitting Los Angeles, Portland and our hometown of Seattle along the way.

Once best known for bedazzling men’s back sides with eye-catching orange stitching and crystal studs, True Religion has since embraced the continuing move toward thoughtful minimalism in menswear.
The brand’s newest launch, a step-ahead take on jogger pants that they’ve dubbed the ‘Runner,’ eschews overt branding and focuses instead on methodical design: A relaxed fit up top eliminates any fear of “tight pants,” a sturdy button fly reminds you you’re not lounging in PJs, and TR’s signature twisted leg seams help fabric sit favorably above the elastic ankle cuffs.
Tech specs aside, the fact is that they look great on, as our in-house photo crew proved when they styled these suckers out. Keep reading to see three ways to wear ‘Runners’—and to catch a Q&A with Zihaad Wells, True Religion’s men’s senior design director.

‘Legacy’ is a fitting moniker for the next evolution from jogger-pant progenitors Publish Brand. In a menswear dominion where innovation usually occurs only within a set number of specimens (below the belt, it’s jeans, chinos, trousers…let’s be honest, kilts are not going mainstream anytime soon)—Publish was able to identify an untapped niche and capitalize on it: athletic-inspired pants, crafted in outside-the-gym cotton twill.
Having built momentum behind their elastic-cuffed ‘jogger pants’ for the past few years (we showed you how to wear a pair here), Publish is set to sustain their ‘Legacy’—and checkmate the jogger-pant game in the process—with a revamped pant that boasts several key improvements. The new model launches worldwide on May 1, but you can BUY IT NOW via Nordstrom Men’s Shop.
Keep reading to see the tactical details that set the new Publish ‘Legacy’ jogger apart from the pack—plus in-flight images from the brand’s new lookbook, depicting all six killer colorways.
