The styling here is about the proportional balance of the outfit. The bomber is normal length, meaning relatively short, but the shirt is longer. And the pants are cropped. Notice how the shirt works with the bookending jacket and pants. It’s harmonious to alternate lengths like that. If everything were short and cropped, the pieces would be competing. It would be too much. And as a general guideline, you don’t want anything to hit halfway down your body. This look roughly sticks to the rule of thirds, which is pleasing to the eye.
Especially when it’s hot out, we’re wearing white/bleached/blown-out colors. And as always, comfort is a must. To those ends, this sunny season, catch us in a crisp Zanerobe shirt and/or a pair of the Australian brand’s jeans, jogger pants or shorts.
That’ll be us at BBQs and on OPBs (other people’s boats), Zan-ed up, Zan-ed out, bumping Soulja Boy’s “Zan With That Lean.”
We’re loving the whole slouchy-yet-clean aesthetic.
One more note about Zanerobe shorts: we’ll have the “Sureshot” chino in heavy rotation for a few months, here. But we keep eyeing those perforated leather joints, as well–seen above and linked below–thinking maybe this is the year we lace ourselves with luxury shorts.
Besides being abnormally comfortable (many have elastic at the waist as well as the cuffs), they cut a lean, tapered silhouette that shows off your favorite shoes, without pesky concerns about rolling or hemming your pant leg.
Keep reading to see three ways to wear them: on the weekend, at the office and for a date.
Nordstrom has been pretty heavy into streetwear for a few years now, and we couldn’t be more excited about our head-to-toe Street League collection, just unleashed on the masses. It’s a spring thing, but we shot footage and photos for our website and catalog this past winter in Los Angeles.
Check out these behind-the-scenes snapshots by Dan Monick from that shoot, with individual hyperlinks. We think the images have a certain je ne sais quoi.
Justifiably well-known for jogger pants, Australian brand ZANEROBE also supplies knits, button-ups, sweatshirts and bags, all swirling between the realms of street and sport. You can dress this stuff up, but basically it’s meant for movement, for choosing one’s own adventure. Like the brand’s North American General Manager, Dan Maynard, does. When he spoke with us, he said he was hyped on “everything, all the time, without sleep.” (FYI: he’s not the model above; he’s this guy in the Top Dawg Entertainment hat.)
Travis Gumbs (left) and Joshua Kissi—two of our favorite photographers, stylists, travel journalists, fashion historians and the masterminds behind globally influential men’s interest blog Street Etiquette—are always up to something.
This time around, it’s a travelogue/lookbook in cahoots with Australian brand Zanerobe (progenitors of some of the best jogger pants in the biz, along with next-level shirts, shorts, jackets and more). The photographic essay, titled On the Road, took them out of their standard stomping ground of New York, and up the West Coast—hitting Los Angeles, Portland and our hometown of Seattle along the way.

With Christmas right around the corner, we asked three male colleagues here at Nordstrom HQ to share what’s on their gift radar this year. Last up is Danny Mankin, our Lead Men’s Stylist—a man whose sneaker collection we envy almost as much as his interior-design skills. If this sounds like someone on your own holiday shopping list, continue reading to find the perfect gift.
Let’s be honest: Most of us men are probably just now getting around to Christmas shopping (hey, we have almost five whole days left!). And while there are innumerable fantastic holiday gifts available right here on Nordstrom.com—sometimes the best gifts come from somewhere else. Like the heart. Or the liquor store. For advice on thinking outside the gift box (and, hopefully, getting a reaction like the one above), we asked nine men with impeccable taste to answer one simple question: What’s the best gift you’ve ever given?
What happens when our Men’s Shop video team goes to Las Vegas during Market Week? They run into Pharrell. They get down to brass tacks with up-and-coming design heroes. And they make some movie magic—amidst three furious days of menswear trade shows.
