Location & Details: Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Our ceremony took place at Holy Family Catholic Church. We chose this church because my family has attended Easter mass here since we were very young. My grandmother loves their organ music and stained glass windows. The reception took place at Windows on the Waterway. This setting had a stunning sunset. We had appetizers and cocktails on the wraparound porch, dinner under a tent on the lawn near the harbor, and dancing inside the glass house.

Our color palette included soft pinks, corals and grey. We wanted our wedding to feel romantic but also relaxing and fun!

Favorite Moments: Although it is hard to pick a particular moment, Russ and my favorite moment was probably walking into the reception to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. Russ and I had a whole dance planned, but as soon as the music came on he picked me up and carried me into the reception! We were laughing, and it just made the start to our celebration feel fun!

The speeches made by my father, sisters and Russ’s brother were also very special to us.

The Dress: Dana Zak, my Wedding Stylist stylist at Beachwood Place in Cleveland, suggested we come to the Kelly Faetanini trunk show. When I tried on “Ula” (the name of the dress), I knew it was just perfect—a Chantilly lace ball gown with tulle and a cascading lace train. I did not want to take it off! Although it was nothing like what I pictured my wedding dress to be, I knew it would set the tone for our wedding day.

Advice for Brides-to-Be: The following three pieces of advice made our planning process seamless and enjoyable.

  1. Things are going to go wrong—no matter what—but it will be the most spectacular day of your life, so stop stressing!
  2. Step back and take it all in. I went for a walk by myself around the reception before the guests arrived. I was so glad I had the opportunity to see all of the planning come together.
  3. Don’t forget to dance! Your wedding is a celebration—take time to celebrate it!

    What a wonderful wedding
Everything from the wedding to the reception was wonderful. Kate and my son had a great time celebrating with there family and friends.
The planning for this wedding was really well done thanks to the brides mom who should be a wedding planner.
Kate was sad that her dream reception and wedding day had to end but now her lifetime with my son has begun and they are happy together and I am very happy to have her as my daughter n law.
